Television King of the Hill: Hulu Revival! (Please let it be common sense based and not woke)

I am concerned, as I would like it to be good but so many of these returns are not good to downright bad. But I haven't seen his new Beavis & Butthead stuff, that might give an indicator as to what to expect.

I have heard good things about it, but KOTH has a lot more nuance and can get more political at times.

My main worry is that instead of it being used as a cudgel against conservatives or downright disconnected from commonsense because at its core that is what KOTH is about like stating that Trump was so bad everyone voted democrat which would honestly never happen.

Now let's be honest here what do you think Hank Hill voting pattern has been like since 2010?

After twelve years of absence both Mike Judge and Greg Daniels will be returning to one of his most beloved of classics in partnership with Hulu!
Why? It was a great show during its run. Things are a lot different now than in the early 2000s by a long shot.

I could easily see Peggy Hill becoming woke; after all, she was already a self-absorbed narcissist completely disconnected from reality before it was popular.
Yeah, Peggy was woke before it was popular, and was just as obnoxious as many modern woke karens, Hank was just to damn blind to really get what sort of madness Peggy was buying into and infecting Bobbie with.

Now the new series might have Peggy realize some of the woke shit is actually bad as it got more insane IRL, but there are a lot of ways it could have played out.

Doubt Hank would have been a Trump voter, probably was Ted Cruz fan and then voted Dem in both 2016 and 2020, but who knows.

The Hill family actually represents a lot of the establishment Boomer-con base and their Gen X/Millennial offspring who can tend toward the Dems.

But this also mean more Dale and Boomhauer, who I doubt will have changed much, which is great; really could care less if Bill is even in it.

I fear for what has become of Bobbie in our modern world, given what I remember him being like in later seasons.

I think that's kind of the point. Hank is commonsense personified and in the past ten years that stance has become more relevant than ever.

I could see him barely voting for Trump in 2016 but I don't see him voting for Biden maybe he votes for Bill Weld or a write in Republican ultimately though I feel he would be greatly annoyed at the choices he has been provided since 2016.

I am curious as to how they will handle Bobby as well.

Your definition of "common sense" for Hank might be vastly different from the "common sense" Mike Judge and Hulu/Disney have in mind.
It might be, but then again Mike Judge did the first few seasons fine, in all honesty I would be more worried if they bought in some rando to do it.

Worst case scenario they make it complete Woke garbage in which case it will fail due to completely alienating its core audience at best it's right where you want it.

Either it's good or bad and we won't know until we know, so until then allow me to cross my fingers.
If it's in the hands of modern writers... he's gonna come out as trans... I mean, he's an effeminate sensitive male, that means "trans" now...
God...I hope that statement isn't prophetic...

In any case Bobby will be interesting the main thing to remember is that Bobby in the series was starkly different from Hank in personality and interest, but we also have to remember when we last saw him, he was just thirteen years old, I doubt he would have changed much on a basic level but as he enters his late teens, I could see him at the very least picking up an interest in some slightly more masculine things as they become relevant in his life, like baisc automotive work or other basic mechanical skills which Hank would readily teach if asked.

My point is I wouldn't say Bobby is completely effeminate he has barely hit puberty in the early series and while he will never be most likely the star athlete Hank was the series finale with the two grilling could imply that as he ages, he and Bobby will grow to have some common areas of difference despite their differences.

Depending on how it is done. Bobby grown up returning from serving in the Army. Has a wife and son of his own? Let's see 13 in 1999. He would be 36-37 just in time for retirement.
I wouldn't assume that KOTH had a loose TL and the show ended in 2010 there was several Thanksgiving or Christmas specials and one episode where I mentioned previously during the 2000 or 2004 election.
Frankly, I'd love to see them use Bobby as the general disphoric person that gets over it and grows up into GiggaChad-Bobby.
Depends on your definition of what that is. Personally, I think Bobby will always be more outgoing on his feelings than Hank and slightly less of a go getter even as he ages, but I think while Bobby will develop to be like Hank, he won't exactly be like Hank.

Bobby ultimately would always be a little nerdier and introverted at his core but that being said as he ages, he would probably become more like Hank with things like outdoor activities like mowing a lawn and working on cars or basic carpentry skills, but I think he should be more that in training as he would still look to Hank for guidance.

Bobby was a natural born marksman and decent at wrestling, Imo he always struck me as like the second coming of Cotton but a bit nicer.
