There's a thread for the MCU, so I thought I might as well make a thread for the comics.
To start this thread off.
One of my all time favourite comics from the post 2016 era (published in 2019): the Wolverine story in Marvel Comics Presents.

Excellent art (considering the industry standard), a interesting straightforward story, and a cool new character who's now my new favourite mutant (Rien du Rien)
Who can disagree and say she isn't sexy and badass AF?

The Original Punisher adopted the skull logo from his time in military service (Vietnam originally) but who cares, this new logo is like... uhhh Shinobi or something? He's apparently going to be a Warlord of the Hand Ninja Clan?

I don't read comics anymore but I remember Frank Castle from back in the day. He didn't have much beyond contempt for bullshit ninjas and their bullcrap of bringing a sword to a gunfight. That's not to say that Frank Castle didn't respect the martial arts culture of the Far East, there was actually classic Punisher stories of him doing stuff in Japan and practicing martial arts... but now we have Hand Ninja Warlord Frank Castle as the impetus of a new redesign.

Oh well, can't be worse then the Angel Punisher... or Mob Boss Frank Castle... or Frankencastle...

There were many dark times for Frank Castle... they often involved him doing very NON-PUNISHER things.

Are we still paying attention to what Marvel is doing? Unless the news are "Marvel swings back to the right, cancels all comics with minority and/or women protagonists, fires writers and artists, replaces them with notorious right-wing extremists", I'm not really interested anymore.

That seems like an ambitious, kind of silly, crossover...

More seriously, it's a silly-looking emblem that calls to mind a demon from Diablo more than a human skull. That's the best Marvel's graphic designers could come up with?

The House of Ideas is billing the "prestige" series as the "definitive culmination" of Frank Castle's journey in the Marvel Universe, so they're pulling out all the stops for it.

I admittedly don't pay a lot of attention to comics...But the reason for that is because lines like this are always BS marketing when used by DC or Marvel, because crap always gets reset, or rebooted, or reimagined (like the logo here), or spun off into an alternate universe timeline, or retconned into irrelevance, or any of a hundred other strategies that just get far too burdensome to deal with...Hell, art-styles shifting so heavily between comics focused on the same character/group seems aggravating itself.

Maybe just my colossal ignorance of print comics speaking, though.

They are going to ruin Kamala by making her a filthy mutie. The whole point of being an inhuman was to avoid the baggage of mutants and tell a fun story. Instead the x-fanatics seethed and bitched until they were given the new toy.

I said it before, the x-men are a relic past its expiration date, one that would be cast off and thrown away normally. But since it has "social justice" and all these mongs buying it...

Nimrod? wait already taken...though Nimrod joing with Ultron would be a nice idea. Not joining as in forming a group but...Ultron and Nimrod turned into one unit with the powers of both. I'm sure that would be a nightmare to face especially if the plan is to mass produce the resultant robots.

honestly all the characters are so broken at this point I say jump into any alternate earth of your choice whether officially made or fan made and chill there until marvel gets better. I'm working on a spider-man fan comic myself and I'm also doing a Spider-Man/Julia Carpenter fanfic.
