Except in this case, it was a full meal which included steak, but thanks to the on vegetarian in the room, this was removed, whether anyone else wanted steak or not.
If getting to stare at Miranda's butt is as important to you as steak in a meal, your reason for playing the game is mixed up.

Not really. Especially if you think actually liking a bit of fan service makes one a pervert. I guess at least I can say that the occasional sight of the female form doesn't "annoy" me. ;)

Hey you're the one who first called me a prude for being annoyed at a bit of gratuitous fanservice. If that makes me a prude, getting upset over that being removed makes you a pervert. You can live without staring at a digital character's butt, can't you?

Being upset at censorship doesn't make me a pervert, nor does appreciating the female form. Being annoyed at fan service is a pretty prudish thing, though. ;)

What it comes down to is that they are changing an aspect of the game to appease prudes who can't handle seeing a shapely woman's form for whatever reason.

Nah, being annoyed at gratuitous fan service that adds nothing of value doesn't make me a prude.

They're changing a small moment in the game that I never really appreciated. Was that moment itself a big deal? No. I rolled my eyes at the scene, and continued to play the heck out of the game. You're making a bigger deal out of this than I ever did. Seems more like you're the one who can't handle being deprived of the chance to stare at a digital butt.

I can stare at that butt anytime I want - that isn't the point. The point is censorship being forced by a bunch of prudes which is, like it or not, going to take something away from the game that plenty of people appreciated. Not only that, but it will likely lose them potential customers, and all to appease people who likely were never going to buy that game to begin with.

The thing is, I don't want to see Miranda exclusively that way. I'm not the kind of person to define women exclusively by their attractiveness. If the point of the camera angles was to push players towards that way of thinking, then it was unwelcome. Again, I'm not shedding a tear that the LE will no longer be so blatantly pushing my view in that direction. Should my view take precedence? Not particularly, but it's my view and I reserve the right to be glad about the change.

You don't have to see her that way, but I disagree that it's a bad idea to blatantly push the idea that Miranda is very attractive. You are supposed to be commander Shepard, not the voices in commander Shepard's head that look at things from a completely viewpoint than he does. Having the game emphasis to you that Miranda is very sexy is an easy way to get you and Shepard on the same page for that point. What you make of that fact past that point is up to you.

Including you? If it's not the point for you, it still seems you're saying plenty of other people "appreciated" it, and that those "potential customers" will be lost. Really. You honestly want me to believe that the purchasing decision of a significant amount of people hangs on whether they get to stare at Miranda's butt in a specific conversation that's not even supposed to be sexual?

Also, hi. I played the original game, I intend on getting the LE, and I never appreciated that specific camera shot.

Be that as it may -- and I'm not against Miranda being emphasized as very attractive in general -- it's out of place to be pushing that viewpoint on the player in a non-sexual conversation about her sister. It's gratuitous, and feels insulting in a way. The game needs to drive the point home that hard? It's juvenile.

You constantly repeating that won't make it true. ;)

I'm saying I'm not the only one concerned with censorship, and that I'm not the only one who views a change like this to be patronizing. And, yes, had they basically just improved the graphics and a few other things (like the elevator loading) I probably would have bought them.

Never said people like you don't exist, just that you don't represent the majority. ;)

Ok, let me make sure I have this straight: You probably would have bought the LE, but because of this one change to a camera angle on Miranda's butt, you're not going to buy it?

Never said people like you don't exist, just that you don't represent the majority. ;)

And you do? Do you have any basis for such a claim, or are you just projecting your opinion onto others?

Okay Okay... I hate having to say this, because it should never be said but I think we've had quite enough discussion on the merits of Miranda's ass for the time being.

New discussion, talk about what an awesome Husbando Legion would be and why he wasn't a romance option since he's clearly the most affectionate, broken, honest and loyal member of the team. Even his heart is open to you. ❤

Plus he looks great wearing Shepard's clothes.

You know what's interesting about about Legion? The writer assigned to it in ME2, Chris L'Etoile - a very detail oriented writer who was behind writing a lot of the in game codex - was totally against Legion wearing a piece of Shepard's armor. The geth don't have the capacity to be sentimental like that, he insisted. But the artist designing Legion came up with the idea, and the higher ups liked the idea, so L'Etoile was overruled. All he could do was downplay it as much as possible. When you ask Legion why it's wearing a piece of your armor, it just answers "There was a hole".

But leaving it unexplained like that was brilliant, because it leaves things open to interpretation. It's like... Legion doesn't know why it picked up a piece of Shepard's armor. If you asked about sentimentality, it would probably answer that the geth aren't sentimental. But it still wears that armor piece. Has Legion evolved the capacity to be sentimental, without intending to? It adds a fascinating little layer to Legion as an AI character.

I can't find myself all that bothered by the censoring of the Miranda buttshots, but nonetheless given the obvious reasons why they do it, I am very happy not to be living in some parallel universe where EA acquired the rights to the Yakuza games and put Bioware in charge of the Remastered Collection. There'd be hardly anything left of them, once everything offensive to the woke Puritans is removed.

For more positive thoughts: Yes price is a ripoff, probably minimal actual improvements, etc etc but still glad we get it and plan to buy once the price drops to around 25Euros or so.

It's not just Miranda Lawson's ass I'm concerned about, it's just that it's one of the lamest changes made for one of the dumbest reasons, that's all. ;)

There's a NSFW Pub... you can totally open a thread about your favorite mASS Effects in this series and other media. 🍑
