Let's say that this is the core of the truth. There have been many period throughout history where a lot of fathers died. So we should see multiple generations of immorality and social decay. If they existed then there is not much mention of it. The closest would be the period immediately following the black death.

One thing that is different is we did not have effective and simple contraception until the second half of the 20th century. Another thing that is different is a move away from religion.
Hm, I would actually question how significant that actually is. For example, the USSR had some very high male casualties, about 8 million military deaths. This is obviously a lot, but out of 170 million people that about 5% of the population. A lot of those were post fatherhood or pre-fatherhood, but lets say you had a 1-1 increase in illegitimacy from casualties. 8 million more illegitimate children is a lot in absolute numbers, but the USSR would have had about 8 million births per year. So, if the illegitimate children are spread out over 10 years, you have about 10% of each generation is more disfunctional, but means there still surrounded by 90% functional families, and the gender imbalance should mostly be resolved by 1950-60, so that specific pressure should be going down every year.
Meanwhile, overall out of wedlock children were higher than the worst case scenario of a USSR scale loss of men was reached in the 1970s.
So, it would take the death of a lot of men to cause the scale of out of wedlock children we've had since things started falling apart in the 60s/70s.

If something is significant then you should see similar effects to a lesser degree within other contexts. It may be that those are seen and just not well recorded or remembered, I don't know.

Children without parents didn't frequently survive the Black Death unless they were already old enough to look out for themselves. It did not really produce a generation of kids without fathers, it killed indiscriminately.
One can, though, point to recent wars and their effects. After WW1 we had what Frederick L. Allen referred to as the "Decade of Bad Manners" where there was a strong focus on doing what you wanted, when you wanted. Hemlines moved up, criminal behavior skyrocketed (this was the time that spawned legendary gangsters like Al Capone), speakeasies and vice were for sale on every corner.

We saw similar declines in morals after WW2 and the generation that grew up with few fathers became the Boomers, a generation noted for their self-centeredness and pursuit of personal happiness at all cost. After the losses in the Korean War and Vietnam the US got the enjoy the sexual revolution and, again, a huge emphasis people put on personal gratification and elevation of their own desires. It may not be the entire cause by itself but you can make a decent case that there have been significant moral declines after major wars in the US.
