Bit wordy, but all and all, a pretty good point.

Dear anti-gunners, I see you ‘2nd amendment is only for muskets’ nonsense and raise you this:

Chambers Flintlock Machine Gun from the 1700s

Damn that gun makes me proud to be an American and a Pennsylvanian. :D

Ah, yeah; almost forgot about that one.

If anything, I actually wonder if the Founders might’ve had an easier time imagining modern weapons than they would IT and communications infrastructure? Besides proto-machine guns that existed already, I assume they (or at least, Franklin and Jefferson) would’ve looked at Leonardo da Vinci’s early schematics for a tank at least once or twice (among other then-pioneering concepts, I’m guessing). So, that at least covers having a general idea of a couple conventional weapons, if not God-tier WMDs like nukes.

Honestly, that makes me wonder whether the Western elites really were less evil than their Eastern Bloc counterparts… or if they just had a lower time preference and were more economically literate, enough so that they kept wealth-building economic systems (i.e., markets and entrepreneurship) in place that would outlast central planning and leave the US victorious in the end.

Problem is that now the USSR’s gone (which is definitely good), the Western elites now have a mandate to impose their own, distinctly plutocratic, consumerist, and internationalist brand of totalitarianism on the rest of us. Really, there are times when I wonder if the Rockefellers and Rothschilds of the world secretly envied how much control Stalin, Mao, and the Kims had over their own people — with their heirs the first to starting taking more “concrete” steps in establishing that sort of regime themselves. :(

I've looked into the time period you actually had quite a few power hungry assholes who envied the power that communist and tyranical leaders had and covited it.

Same problem you see a lot of, every one thinks their going to be the chair man the king the emperor they never consider the possibility that their not going to be the ceasar that rules the world until its too late.

Both communism and capitalism should deserved to be fought for different reasons.

In the Cold War many Western countries supported very despicable people in many countries, so the only alternative for many movements and groups was...communism, or at least pretending to have vagueness of leaning towards Moscow like the MPLA in Angola did because the other two alternatives were already pro-Western independence groups. The USSR did the same and no wonder why any inch of European of leftism and progressivism is seen (rightfully) as repugnant and putrid as it was the "more" authoritarian, no wonder the Taliban won Afghanistan TWICE. They same happened in pro-US backed groups or countries in Latin America, Africa and Asia (notable exception was Cambodia/Kampuchea that was a self-Genocidal Maoist machine and fought Soviet-backed Vietnamese).

The liberalism of today is repugnant as those ideologies but it is lucky because of its shady subtletly and many individuals and masses are complacent or feel powerless, but their new vision of the world is of a technocratic oligarchy with a defenceless emasculated hysterical homogenized and degenerate society which tramples on individual rights, workers' rights, tradition and nationhoods.

Now recently they lost that subtletly. Or maybe I, the Sietch members and others are just actually awake unlike some useful idiotic puppets.
