Artwork Messing around with AI, A Art thread.

One thing I've noticed about AI art is that it all has a sort of similar style.

Can one have images of something in various styles? Like Retsuko done a-la Hanna-Barbara, Anime, classic Disney, etc?
Maybe they have it done but haven't found one yet.
Also Pixar's style or Pixar-like is awfully easy to imitate...so course most are going to be like this.

I'm too busy to bother with this so I'd like to give it to the first person that asks lol

Just tag me here and I'll dm the code they gave me.

That's unfortunately because most AI art is porn. And lots of people simply merging models together.

You can still find good models, but I'd avoid CivitAI, or at least block anime/hentai models.

I don't seem the appeal with MJ currently. There haven't been any great improvements to the algorythm lately, and the overall artistic expression has gone down since v4, at least I feel that way. Maybe once v6 comes out I'll jump back in again, but currently I don't feel spending money on it is warranted.

I'm still not quite sure was AI art does.

I've seen numerous examples, like with Retsuko, but how does it actually work?

Well, jumped back in with the advent of v6, back to my never ending quest to get MJ to build me a spheroid Battletech dropship. Getting closer. Somewhat. 😂

You know, I wonder how different the results would be just by adding a single word to a prompt.

For example, one result for "Battletech Spheroid Battleship" and one for "Eldritch" or "Lovecraftian Battletech Spheroid Battleship".

Probably something like tentacles and eyes for guns, heh.

In the 1980s movie "The Running Man" there was a scene where the two main characters were replaced by two others, those made to look like the two runners, they were killed.

My late father did not understand how that worked, so I explained that computers faked it so the two people looked like other people. He found that unsettling.

How can anyone possibly trust what they see on the news with today's fake-it technology?

Yeah, we can see examples of that in movies and TV already.

Mark Hamill's younger face being superimposed on his older self for Luke Skywalker scenes in the latest Star Wars media, background actors and actresses having their likeness unknowingly (and illegally) scanned for use as background CGI extras, et cetera.

(There's also the Mandalorian scene with Ahsoka and Grogu, but you get my point there).

And Leia in the earlier Rogue One, though she suffers from a bit of Uncanny Valley.

Terminator: Salvation had an earlier example of it with the T-800 RIP.

I mean, Terminator: Genisys had it with early 80's Arnold's face on one T-800 (supposed to be the original Terminator from Terminator 1), and early 90's Arnold on "Pops" (using the face of Terminator 2's "Uncle Bob").

Even Woke Fate used it for the T-800 ("Carl") that killed John at the start (and look how far the technology has come since Salvation in '09!)

It's just going to keep getting better and better as companies refine it... And it's a Pandora's Box that's already been opened.

On the one hand, we may see classical actors now departed reprise their roles with AI speech and likeness, such as Christopher Lee (with their respective estate's permissions, of course); on the other hand, Pandora's Box, studios pissing on these actors' legacies with subpar bullshit releases, et cetera.

One thing I've heard a lot about recently is "Argent Metal", a new sub-genre of metal music growing on YouTube: It's basically metal mixed or splashed with the pure awesomeness (in style) that is the style of Mick Gordon's DooM and DooM: Eternal soundtracks.

If we insert prompts into AI art generators for things like "country" and "rock and roll", we'll get a load of visual responses; I wonder if argent metal has grown enough of a traction to have some sort of visual representation yet?

The many expressions of disturbingly realistic Twiggles, lol:

I generated these locally using AUTOMATIC1111 and Pony Diffusion V6 XL on a 4090. Each 1024x1024 generation takes a little under eight seconds. Waaaaaay faster than using MJ or DALL-E over the internet.

NGL, they look like what I'd expect a better 3D FiM to have looked like (compared to that ANG crap) .
