Musk actually buys Twitter.

Buba

A total creep
Isn't such extortion actionable?
Also - with Musk being an important DoD contractor - shouldn't he be protected in some manner due to that?

If it was me, OR my family, what I would do ... I cannot say because I would violate the forum's rules.

Let's just say I would ask help or suggestions from @Zachowon on how to deal with this kind of troublemakers before I consider using a lawyer.

One could realistically charge him for stalking and attempted battery and maybe child endangerment in the right courts.

But there are ways to deal with him yes.
I would kot recommend anything outside the Law yet. Let the Justice system get thier chance first

It looks like Kushner and Saudi investors told Musk that he had enough fun with Twatter and it's time for matters to settle down.

Musk just fired the entire Trust and Safety team.

This is an empty gesture -- the "Trust and Safety Team" was an advisory board which had no actual decision making power and thus, cannot reasonably be held accountable for anything Twitter's previous m anagement did or did not do.

It appears that Musk eliminated them largely because he sees his new content advisory council taking essentially the same role; he's has now stated that contrary to previous assumptions, the council will also be a strictly advisory body and all actual decision making authority will rest solely with him.

Doxxing opponents = ok

Banning those who do doxxing = not ok

Stalker behaviour used to be condemned now it is a feature and being journalistic professionalism!

I will point out that when I got doxxed here on this very forum, several posters aggressively defended it by claiming that compiling public or semi-public information isn't technically doxxing.

I don't believe Jack Sweeney has ever claimed to be a professional journalist, only that what he's doing is completely legal (true) compiling of publicly available information (true) and that tracking a private jet is also very, very different from someone's actual address (also very true).

No way. Attempted battery, much less child endangerment, is a comical overstretch that no court would countenance.

Remember, the anti-abortion group Operational Rescue wasn't even charged when they passed actual tactical intelligence to the point of detailed breakdowns of a targeted doctor's daily movements to someone they *knew* had a history of violence, then piously claimed they had no idea what he planned to use it for. That being the precedent set for "It has to be direct incitement and support of criminal activity" for charges to stick, this clearly does not even remotely qualify.

You're responding to a pathological troll who always "co-incidentally" takes the left-wing position in every single discussion. :cautious:

I don't think arguments are going to do the trick here. It didn't work the past few hundred times...

Pro tip: ignore, or otherwise exclusively engage to mock. Never take trolls or shills seriously.

They made up a new term called "Soft doxing" to protect you, because you weren't actually doxed, your original name was revealed.

And the info that was used to "soft dox" yiu was info that you posted to this site. It would be like Elon posting a link to his jet tracker himself, and then banning anyone who shares his jet's location. You shared your profession and the city you worked in on this very site. Combine that with your posting habits, and it's pretty easy to find out who you were. That isn't doxing.

Which is pretty important, considering you were given a position on this board that gives you some pretty deep access.

People deserve to know that you were one of the Trans activists who was really nasty to them in the past, and that you've now got power on a website that you could potentially exploit if you wanted to give them trouble.

It was at that point that I decided TS can not Be trusted any more than any of the lefty forum sister sites out there, and that our owner can make some pretty poor decisions.

What I'm curious about this, is whether he's already got an intended replacement lined up, and if this is purely a PR move.

Because remember, even if he steps down as CEO, he's still the owner. It's still his show, and he can do what he wants with it.

It'd be interesting to know.

I really do not know what he is playing at, to be honest. He knows exactly who he's dealing with so why would he telegraph weakness like that?

Edit: what's worse is that he had twitter under his complete control, and now for some reason he has offerred the enemy an avenue of attack.

It could easily be just another round of 'I'm going to use this to find more bots to ban,' with a second poll after bot-banning occurs.

Or it could be a genuine mistake.

*shrug.*

Or he's faking his 'defeat' on the way out because he was always going to go back to his other things after a month or two, and this way the bitching drops and certain advertisers can pretend to bend the knee to the woke mob and still come back on twitter for the moolah.
