Dunno where else to put the Big Military Spendy Spendy Topics since discussion is spread everywhere.

So here's a thread.

To start us off Poland Might Be Undertaking a Seven Billion Dollar South Korean Shopping Spree!

Joint production of Polish variants of the South Korean K2 Black Panther (Wakanda Forever) Main Battle Tanks.

Something called the Redback IFV which I'll look up later.

48 FA-50 Fighter Jets. These are light jets which are also used as trainers. Phillippines recently rejoined the Jet Age by purchasing some of these.

And both SAMs (a medium range one based partially off of the S-350/400) and K9 Thunder 155mm Self Propelled Guns. Maybe these could be produced in Poland as well though they already have KRABS!

Could not be destroyed in suprise attack.

Czech Republic is looking to purchase 24 F-35A's.

Air Force Mag said:
The aircraft will replace 14 leased Swedish JAS-39C/D Gripen fighters, which will serve until 2027. The Czech Republic was also considering the Eurofighter Typhoon and the Gripen JAS-39E, which has been upgraded with new capabilities. Notably, the Swedish offer would have allowed the Czech Republic to retain at no cost the Gripen C/Ds it has been using.

In addition to the U.S. Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps, the F-35 is flying for Australia, Denmark, Israel, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, the Republic of Korea, and the U.K. It has been officially selected by Belgium, Finland, Germany, Poland, Singapore, and Switzerland. Canada has announced that the F-35 is its “preferred” choice for a new fighter, and negotiations are underway with Greece.

It'll replace the 14 Swedish JAS-39 Gripens they are currently leasing from Sweden.

The German Military Might Actually Acquire Something. I'm not sure but I think this is the first acquisition of anything for the German military in a quarter Century. 😏 :p

In case you have a conversation with Putin, be sure to bring up the ability to precisely deliver B61 Nuclear Bombshell with Precision Accuracy for no reason.

A new production run of the Eurofighter Typhoon is planned and they are courting Eastern European Nations to but some up. This apparently includes approaching Poland which is already planning on acquiring the F-35's in 2024.

Not planning, already done deal. Mostly due to the specifics of the new model - it's priced like a combat trainer, yet has an AESA radar and AMRAAM compatibility, making it a discount F-16, by the way it's also designed to be near identical in pilot training to F-16. This unusual set of traits is what pushed through a deal.

I wasn't sure if the deal for the planes was included with the tank and SPG purchase or not, It looks like Poland is also looking into some of Korea's SAM systems and IFV's.

The FA-50's light combat jets are part of the South Korean Deal. But yeah the F-35's are a separate thing altogether, being from America and all that.

Seems like hardly anyone wants to buy the Eurofighter Typhoon.

Apparently the F-35 and Rafale are pretty good alternatives. But this new production run is also meant to replace earlier models which is what Spain and Germany are doing with new Typhoon purchases. The older Typhoons might be sold to random Asian or Latin American countries then. And the Middle Eastern nations might by newer variants as well since they already are operating dozens of the older ones.

Hungary is receiving the first two of the planned 24 PzH2000 Self Propelled Howitzers from Germany as part of a $1,8 billion dollar deal signed back in 2018. This package also included 44 new Leopard 2A7 Main Battle Tanks, 12 used Leopard 2A4 Battle Tanks already delivered in 2020 that were to be used for training, Lynx IFV's and a Bridge Laying Tank.
