Does anyone here actually use a credit union?

I'd consider using a credit union, but I might move soonish, and the one I'd use would require you to be a local. As for active duty or veterans, I know Navy Federal works pretty well.

I do, way better than the local banks.

I use one tied to my former service-days for some things, I also do a portion my financial activity through my primary employer, more as a contractual stipulation than because of choice. The remainder is through a mix of firms for specific services. Obviously firms prefer if you conduct all your business with one provider, but that seems like an eggs-basket situation that is better avoided.
