Why is Sony being boycotted by Chinese Outrage Mobs you may ask?

Quite reasonably, because Sony MOCKED a Chinese KOREAN WAR HERO.

As evidenced in the thread below.

Yes that is correct. A Sony advertisement campaign featuring a Dog peeking out from a bunch of pink blossoms has been interpreted by outraged Chinese netizens as clearly being used to mock a famous painting of Korean War hero Qiu Shaoyun who was burned to death whilst saving his comrades in arms. Apparently October 12th, the day Sony posted their Dog promo, WAS THE 70TH ANNIVERSARY OF QIU SHAOYUN's SACRIFICE!!!

Sony will now be punished by the 'Heroes and Martyrs Protection Law" which is too bad because just back in 2021 Sony was fined 100 million Yuan for insulting China then as well because they released a new smartphone on July 7th... WHICH WAS THE DATE OF THE BEGINNING OF THE SINO-JAPANESE WAR!!!1 🤬

This happened at the same time American companies like Nike, Adidas and Wal-Mart faced nationalist boycotts for allegedly discontinuing the sale of products made by slave labor in Xinjiang.

The CCP and the Chinese population in General hate Japan. It is gonna take 1,500 years for them to get over that.

I mean if there was a sack of a city in 'modern' times so bad it's referred to as 'the Rape of Nanjing' I'd be pretty inclined to not like the group that did it. Not even moving on to the many, many, many other atrocities committed by the Japanese that are 'just' out of living memory.
Yeah: The IJA did some truly heinous shit in Asia, much like how the Germans did in Europe. It's a sensitive topic out there between Modern Japan and Modern China.

China doesn't hate Japan just because of the war, you know.

China has always looked down on Japan (the original Chinese name for Japan is "land of the dwarfs"). Today, China looks down on Japan because it's the one Asian country that surpassed China for a time as its own separate civilization. Even the Mongols eventually became assimilated under Chinese civilization, but Japan has always been its own separate thing that became superior for a time. To China, the country which is always been superior throughout its long history, that is an intolerable offense. Superior white barbarians is one thing, but superior Asians who borrowed large parts of their language and culture from us? That cannot be forgiven.

Japan is supposed to be inferior to China, just like the rest of Asia and really the rest of the world. But it isn't. So China stirs up hate.

Made worse by the fact that the CCP deliberately keeps hatred of Japan in the forefront of their peoples' minds, in an attempt to distract them from what their own government is doing to them on a daily basis.

China these days is pretty much the epitome of doing sort of the right thing for all the wrong reasons.
