Why is Sony being boycotted by Chinese Outrage Mobs you may ask?
Quite reasonably, because Sony MOCKED a Chinese KOREAN WAR HERO.
As evidenced in the thread below.
Yes that is correct. A Sony advertisement campaign featuring a Dog peeking out from a bunch of pink blossoms has been interpreted by outraged Chinese netizens as clearly being used to mock a famous painting of Korean War hero Qiu Shaoyun who was burned to death whilst saving his comrades in arms. Apparently October 12th, the day Sony posted their Dog promo, WAS THE 70TH ANNIVERSARY OF QIU SHAOYUN's SACRIFICE!!!
Sony will now be punished by the 'Heroes and Martyrs Protection Law" which is too bad because just back in 2021 Sony was fined 100 million Yuan for insulting China then as well because they released a new smartphone on July 7th... WHICH WAS THE DATE OF THE BEGINNING OF THE SINO-JAPANESE WAR!!!1
This happened at the same time American companies like Nike, Adidas and Wal-Mart faced nationalist boycotts for allegedly discontinuing the sale of products made by slave labor in Xinjiang.
