News of the Emperor's demise is spreading quickly across the Galaxy. Grand Vizier SATE PESTAGE, trusted confidant of the late Emperor, moves to secure his hold on power, while the spark of the Rebellion has risen to a full flame. In-fighting and treachery has turned CORUSCANT into a battleground between disparate Imperial factions.
With the future uncertain, cell leaders, Alliance commanders, partisans and politicians and other dissidents against the Empire finally see a chance to liberate the Galaxy once and for all from the hands of Imperial despots. However, as the galaxy divides, so do the first warlords seize upon the chance to burn the stars around them once and for all...
In STAR WARS: Like the Phoenix, players assume the mantle of leading the divided, triumphant Rebel Alliance in the wake of their victory at the Battle of Endor. Some of you may follow the course of Mon Mothma and her increasingly centralizing authority seeking to restore the Old Republic, while others may leap upon the opportunity to strike a new course for the galaxy, and carve out a new future for your people, ideology or faith.
Here are some basic rules:
- Abide by forum rules at all times (particularly when it comes to posting content)
- Do not metagame, powergame or min-max.
- Please do not wiki-dive (i.e. coming to me with some Wookieepedia article of some ancient long-lost Sith superweapon that you should coincidentally have access to because reasons.)
- Making interesting characters over strong or successful characters is preferable for both game quality and my mood.
- Scarif, Jakku, Vardos, and Takodana exist.
- The film Rogue One (its characters, plot, and locations) is canon.
- The rule of Canon/Replacement will apply: if you apply as a position that a canon character holds, you can replace them.
- Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian, Gial Ackbar CANNOT be replaced.
GENERAL INFORMATION
You are only playing as members of the Alliance to Restore the Republic (or Rebel Alliance for short), splinter groups of the Alliance or independent former Rebels of any stripe. You may go as far as you wish with how your potential breakaway state goes or try go the route of influencing the Alliance directly as it transitions into a new government.
As to be expected of what had been a rag-tag, close-knit band, you will rub shoulders a lot with established characters in the setting, so it is advised against making a clone of an existing canon character, but rather attempt to broaden out and expand the scope of the Rebel Alliance. To avoid too much clustering, players cannot start at Endor for the time being. That being said, playing an actual canon won't be allowed.
As you are at the core of the revolution, dissidents against the Galactic Empire, you could theoretically be more than just noble-hearted ideologues wishing for a brighter galaxy. Escaped criminals, con-men, even a guild of bounty hunters entangled with the Alliance all exist and carry the colours of the brazen phoenix.
Orders are simply, simply start a forum conversation with me titled 'LTP - *CHARACTER NAME*'
For queries, come to the OOC and IC thread, if there are any questions about certain things, do not hesitate to come to me.
A Star Wars year is 10 months. A turn will be 5 months (half a year). There will be numerous minis on wars, coups, and other fun stuff. I will do my best to feature appropriate music in the updates for your pleasure as much as mine.
Please keep in mind that game start is a few moments BEFORE the Battle of Endor commences. Make your character as if the Death Star II is about to blow Ackbar's fleet sky-high, supposedly.
SHIPS & RESISTANCE
Star Wars is ships. The Empire loves big ships, the Rebellion doesn't. As the slow transition to building capital-class vessels begins, the Alliance will be forced to coordinate and build up their fleet strength. Given the nebulous nature of the Alliance's vast entourage of different ship types, rather than specific classes, your fleets will be represented by tonnage size based off the Anaxes War College System, with relevant examples being available there. However, ships from the cruiser size and up will be buildable through stats, but you can invest BP (build points) into fortification and smaller ship sizes, but the amount will be more vague. An adjective will be included in player stats to represent where their ships hail from, i.e Mon Calamari, Corellian, Bothan, you know, usual drill.
- Cruiser ( 1 BP, 1 turn )
- Heavy Cruiser ( 3 BP, 1 turn )
- Star Cruiser ( 4 BP, 2 turns )
- Fleet Carrier ( 6 BP, 3 turns )
- Star Destroyer ( 8 BP 1, 3 turns )
- Battlecruiser ( 18 BP, 4 turns )
- Star Dreadnaught ( 32 BP, 6 turns )
Do note, Imperial designs (such as the Executor) cannot be built at game start, but stats will adjust to reflect the Alliance expanding and gaining more shipyard worlds and ground in general, including the establishment of permanent military commands.
CHARACTER APPLICATIONS
I bet you probably skipped everything I just wrote and came down here. That's fine, it's expected. Anyway, here is the signup template.
For the time being, I will NOT be accepting Force-sensitives or characters who start off as neutral. There is also a soft cap of 12.
