Looks like Governor Hochul shot down newly elected NYC Mayor Eric Adams attempt at strengthening the attempt to keep pre-trial subjects behind bars in an effort to curb NYC gun violence.

Her answer came in the wake of the ambush shooting that killed two NYPD officers. That on Tuesday sparked the official in charge of court operations for the state and six Republican members of Congress from New York to side with Adams’ call to amend 2019 bail-reform laws to grant judges more control over setting bail for defendants judges deem present a public safety risk.

On Tuesday, Chief Administrative Judge Lawrence Marks said during a budget hearing in Albany that “Many judges … would like more discretion in making determinations about bail and release of people accused of crimes.”

*shrugs* Adams has proven to be a hollow suited DNC apparatchik pretty quickly and Cuomo is still one of the bosses of New York politics no matter how far he's fallen. Them having a chat isn't really all that suspicious or sinister beyond that fact that it indicates that Cuomo isn't in prison where he belongs.

The Cuomo's will make a comeback down the road in the future: they're just waiting for the controversy to die down in 12+ years.
