Yep gang for the longest time. The Polar Bear was seen as the worlds largest land Carnivore. But no longer. It has been dethroned by another Older and even bigger beast.

And these are just just a few of the instances that scientists were shocked to discover. Hippos are being seen more and more hunting livestock, Gazelles, Zebra and in rare cases Lions. But why should scientists be shocked. The Hippos closest relative is this guy.

Yep the Orca and other toothed whales are the Hippos closest living relative. So what are your thoughts on this new revelation? For me it explains why Hippos are so kill happy.

According to what i read,Massays who had no problems with going on Lion hunt with spears, never tried that with hippos.
Or,maybe tried long ago,and decide to stop for some unknown reasons...Wonder why? maybe they feel bad for Gaia ?:)

They are also related to the Daeodon, which really did resemble a more terrestrial and predatory land hippo.

It seems like that whole family of animals have always been omnivores. Which makes a toon of sense. A large Omnivore in Africa fits right into a needed niche.

What people don't get about hippo's is they are big, aggressive, and unexpected FAST on land.

Like, take a wild boar and upsize it, while also making it a better swimmer and with an even tougher hide.

Not surprised they've been found to be omnivores.

A total creep
ZOMG DEY 2 KYOOT!!!!!
incoherent cooing and squee-squee noises over the cutness of hippos

They arent true onmivores, but most herbivores will take a bit of meat from time to time. Cows will eat chicks for example, and deer have been seen to nibble at abandoned kill sites. There is even a case of a woman who was eaten by an elephant.

My mother on vacations saw band of hens which destroyed underground nest of mice, and killed&eaten mice and her children.
