The War in Afghanistan

Have there only been IEDs so far, or have there been air and/or artillery strikes? If it's just IEDs, it could just be a fringe group wanting to give the foreigners a bloody nose before they leave the country. If it's air and/or artillery strikes, on the other hand...

It's suicide bombers again, probably ISIS.

BOMBING OF KABUL THREAD MERGED WITH THIS ONE

If there is a thread topic drift I can prune it later but it seemed pretty strongly related to the withdrawal at the moment.

Lets not leap to conclusions...

Unconfirmed but it was probably COVID related. The Delta Variant is operating with impunity in Afghanistan thanks to America's withdrawal.

Very cool of the Taliban to attack in the middle of withdrawal.

This will depend if they get orders to act, with our weak and inept commander in chief, we shall see.

Do you want them to stay longer? At this point, that's just going to get more servicemembers injured, and for what purpose? The best way to protect ourselves and our servicemembers is the same as it has been - remove them from this pointless conflict, and stop Afghanistan's problems from spilling over to our countries by not permitting Afghanis and their problems into our countries.

Do not assume this is a Taliban attack; far more likely it is ISIS-K.

Taliban want/wanted us gone with minimum fuss and to be able to focus on propping up their own legitimacy. Taliban also haven't used suicide tactics in...probably at least a decade; seriously don't remember the last time the Taliban used suicide tactics.

That always seemed to be AQ's and ISIS's thing.

I would like them to stay long enough to get out the innocent American citizens that are stuck there, and this should have happened in the first place.

If some service members get injured or killed trying to rescue citizens who are most likely going to get killed when we abandon them? Well that's their job.

We never should have pulled out how we did in the first place. We should have evacuated the citizens first.

I want out of Afghanistan, entirely. I also want American citizens to be able to get out of that shit hole.

We really don't get a say in any of this, this is Bidens operation and Bidens show, so yeah every thing is on him.
