His base now sees him as an iconic near martyr and sees this as PROOF (in their eyes) that all this time, they were right. If we thought getting them to conform to mask, capacity, and social distancing mandates was impossible before, this event just made it completely futile. A large percentage of Americans who have proven they don't have the critical thought capacity required to react to a deadly PLANETARY pandemic will now breed new generations of even more empowered hate and ignorance. We are now in a position that these people will be out in full force to guarantee that we have another 4 or more years of this man running this country into the ground. We thought the PB were a threat before? Think about when their messiah walks away from this.

Add to this disastrous news that Mitch McConnel has shut down legislation of all kinds EXCEPT the confirmation hearings until October 19th, leaving people suffering with no money, no homes, and no hope for another two weeks, and you have exactly what they wanted. Talks fail. Everyone just now gets Covid. Pelosi can suck it because, of course, as papa Mitch says, its HER fault she won't come down 2.5 trillion dollars to match their 0.5 trillion bump. You hear that Nancy? YOU are responsible for the American unemployed suffering. They continue to run this government like social media and the internet doesn't exist to exploit their dirty, cowardly shit.

You know what? I would sit here and say it's time to enact the Right of Revolution. The right of revolution is the right or duty of the people of a nation to overthrow a government that acts against their common interests and/or threatens the safety of the people without cause.

Last time PR voted on statehood, it came out in favor, even if the vote was non-binding.

Now, due to Covid, a lot of US pharma manufacturing is moving back to PR, so they will have more income and a better economic foundation.

We should let PR in, and let Guam in too.

Yes, by all means let's add two more blue states. Why don't we make DC and Austin states too, while we're at it?

Do you even want to win? If anything, Puerto Rico should be made fully independent. Or we can trade it to Denmark in exchange for Greenland.

Uh, Latino's are a pretty conservative group, and there is no reason to think those place will only be blue strongholds.

It mainly has to do with political factions. I've observed that people in America tend to vote in regards to their money - traditionally, Libertarians tend to favor social issues favored by the left (legalization of gay marriage, narcotics, etc.) However, they have more in common with traditional Republicans in terms of economics - which they typically vote alongside.

The reason I bring up Libertarians is that the Democrats had their own version of them called the Faith and Family Left (which is typically how Latinos vote.) Socially, they're very conservative (generally pro-life, anti-drug, etc.) However, economically they tend to agree more with Democratic spending policies - and that's how they vote.

This is me just recalling information from my high school government civics class, though, based on trends up to that point. I'm not sure how accurate that's going to be in the coming decades, or even years with all that is going on.

The last statehood vote was non-binding, but it was generally in favor of it.
Socially, not economically, or regulatorily.
Trump has growing Latino support, so I think it may be the right time to bring PR into the fold.

A lot of Latino's have fled socialist countries, and know how damaging those policies can be, so I don't think the old paradigm still applies.

I mean, you all saw that Telemundo poll after the last debate, right?
