It is probably standard in that area. Federal agents don't always take command from the highest one. Tou have individual field offices that usually take charge of the local areas. So most likely asked by thebstate to be used for security incase something happens

Rather poignant point here; why hasn't Trump and his group tried to visibly assist the people jammed up for Jan 6th?
The Left and Dems were rather quick to bail out and pay the legal fees of Antifa and BLM for months, yet Trump supporters jammed up as what amount to literal political prisoners aren't getting much help from Trump or the GOP.
If Trump actually cared as much about their plight as he claims, why no actions or assistance?
He needs to address the issue, lest it look like he views his supporters as disposable pawns the same way the Dems do.
Because they are actively trying to avoid getting charges when the DOJ is actively targeting them anyway?
Paying bail or assisting in the legal fees for those people is not against the law.
In fact paying bail and legal fees of a third party is protected speech, AFAIK.
So regardless of whatever the DoJ is trying to gin up against Trump, they'd have zero legal grounds to go after him for paying bail and legal fees for people jammed up over Jan 6th.
I mean, it will tie him up even more in legal issues
I might make him liable for making sure people honor bail agreements, but I cannot see it doing more than that.
That's something the Dems and their groups are very willing to risk for their people.

If what you hypothesize is the true reason Trump isn't helping the Jan 6th people...well, doesn't say great things about his, or the Right's, chances going forward, now does it?
If elections cannot be trusted, if the DoJ is a partisan org now that can lie and fabricate evidence and get away with it, if people can get their law licenses revoke on BS ground, if the DoJ is able to get away with suing Georgia on BS grounds for the election law stuff, and if Trump is too afraid of further legal complications for even exercising his legal rights to pay bail and legal fees of his supporters...what hope do we have of actually turning things around?

I have seen so many fucking people on here give up hope that we can change it for the better. THAT IS WHAT THEY WANT! THEY want us to give up hope. Want us to think it is over and we do things they can crack down on and prevent us from having a future with.
Trump is playing it smart. When the DOJ is against you and more then willing to charge and arrest people who stormed the capital (There are people who did break laws. They also srnt going to defend those that did commit crimes.) And going to defend them and bail them out may cause crackdowns on the right more and use the act that Is trying to be passed against us.

This poem describes a lot of things.
We need proof that the voting system and ballot box is secure and trustworthy again, before we can truly have hope of fighting back at the ballot box.
Because if the ballot box cannot be trusted, then all other political efforts are moot.
Not to mention that with the DoJ going after Georgia for it's new laws, the new regime is making clear that anything which secures election integrity will be treated as infringing on voter's rights. So even trying to secure the ballot box will require probably getting things to SCOTUS, who have already shown they will punt on these issues.
The ones who broke actual laws, as opposed to those just rounded up for being in DC on the 6th, or entering the Capital after the officers were told to let people in, I can understand not wanting to help them.
But we also know many of the people being held are only being held because they happened to be in the crowd on the 6th.
'Maning up' won't fix shit and neither will positivity.
We are in a hole that it is very unlikely we can vote our way out of, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise for the sake of 'morale'.
