Hey, if I read the news right, last years have been 'fun' for almost everybody navy - US, France, Russia, India, China...
What happened with France?

I know the CdG went in for refitted, but not anything beyond that.

Yeah, this could be bad, depending on the motive, and if any of the other recent fires on ships are not accidents...

If this ends up linked to a foreign actor...well, anyone who thinks we won't go to war over actions against our warships hasn't read American history.

You know I was hoping it was the yard screwing up since they could actually pay for the damage. A idiotic sailor doesn't have anywhere remotely enough assets to pay for the amount of damage that has occurred.

If it is a foreign action then Heaven have mercy on the group that did it. Because the US Navy will not.

As so far no lives have been lost to the fires, only equipment destroyed, we may be able to restrain it to a few punitive strikes against their vessels, or santion the living fuck out of them till the damage is paid for.

There must be a price extracted for this, if there was a foreign actor involved.

Sure, but given what happened to the USS Miami it’s also quite possible the guy came up with the idea on his own for one dumb reason or another.

Rest in Peace USS Bonhomme Richard LHD-6 (1998-2021).

It was apparently a private decommissioning ceremony and the ship will be towed to a dismantling facility on the Texas coast for about thirty million dollars.

It was estimated the cost of repairs of the vessel would've been around $2.5 billion dollars conversely.

I had a feeling. A fire that bad is basically impossible to come back from. You'd never be able to trust the steel in that ship again anyway.

Yeah, and the price tag is about 2/3 that of a new America-class...might as well just add one more to the order at that point and christen her the best BHR.

And I do think we'll see another Bonhomme Richard, given the history of the name.

They were definently looking into it and didn't want to accuse the wrong sailor
As they should.

But the note about the other fires on San Diego based ships...coincidence, or do we have a issue with firebug sailor(s) out of there?
