Victory! The Mods of r/Animemes are in Full Retreat!

For those who are unaware, the mods of r/Animemes made the boneheaded decision a while ago to ban the word "trap" from their community, because the beleive it offended the transgendered. This sparked a full-scale rebellion; consisting of memes, people abandoning the subreddit en mass for r/Goodanimemes, and doxing (sadly). In response, the mods at r/Animemes have locked the subreddit down entirely. No word on if it will ever be opened back up; but considering the abundance of vitriol expressed by the mods for their community, even before things started getting nasty, I doubt they'd be inclined to.

All I have to say is good riddance, and I hope those jerks are never given authority over anything ever again.

If it's like the rest of reddit at least a few of those mods are probably mods elsewhere on decently big subs

Some of them ended up as mods on r/Goodanimemes, though I'd like to assume they were the dissenters. Then again, they have banned "war" memes on r/Goodanimemes (basically memes about r/Animemes), on the premise that they constituted "harassment"; though apparently that was on the order of Reddit admins, so who knows at this point.

We'll just have to wait and see what happens; though personally I believe Reddit as a whole is a lost cause at this point, thanks to the admins, so I don't expect r/Goodanimemes to last all that long. At least, not in its current incarnation; as said admins want people like the old r/Animemes mods, the ones who caused all of this, in charge of basically every subreddit.
