knowing how to build AGT1500 gas turbine will not help you discover Higgs boson.
The point is, that it actually would.
Sure it doesn't help at all with the actual research directly, but the technology behind gas turbines and the sensors used is helpful in producing better secondary systems for your particle accelerator.

That's the point, basic technical and engineering knowledge has very broad applications and while it won't directly help in researching X, it will make the support structures you need to do so better/cheaper.
It's possible nothing in the core will help, but not likely.

Just the advanced Computers could speed up things?

Data Analysis, Physics Simulation, CAD applications etc....

Ah I love the smell of missile spam in the morning
by the way I have a question....how much of the hardware on Catachan was from the garrison's stuff and if not where did all the non totally destroyed hardware go?

Scavengers. Buildings and walls are reinforced concrete/DOME wonder materials, which just look like rocks, but Mech bits? That’s clearly food.
So the stuff that couldn't be repaired and put into that warehouse is gone. Shame I kinda wanted them to go and find a few Rampages and the like in one of the warehouses

Yeah, the people really didn’t like Amaris. So the usual sort of things happened to surviving Amaris Dragoons/their families.

Why bother burning people in effigy, when you can do the real thing?

It’s vaguely mentioned in an earlier chapter, but if Star League construction wasn’t Star League construction, the Amaris Dragoons base would have been burned down. They gave it their best shot, but couldn’t quite manage it.

So a lot of the Mechs and vehicles that ordinarily would have been recoverable got shot at more than needed and in some cases set on fire post the end of the battle.

By the way are we ever going to figure out what happened to the jumpships that Pinto was escorting? Because it's clearly not what you'd send to pick up the goods from Catachan with its Mule sized cargo bay and 0 dropship collars

Not really relevant to the story. The Dropships they were carrying had no place in the fight they found themselves in. The survivors bugged out. Subsequently destroyed by the SLDF, because they would have been fanatics to be trusted with the information on Catachan. Profoundly unlikely to surrender.

Fair was just wondering is there where some Jumpships that where drifting in the outer system

Almost impossible to trsck if they do have leads on where pieces were beforehand.

The planet population is too low for a large amateur astronomy program going to locate drifting bodies.

In future generations it might be popular in attempts to find a strike such as a jump core.

Battletech also does not have the dedicated computer processing power to sort through images to find them.

Hope things are going good with Op and hoping for more of welcome to the jungle soonish. Though I'll admit I'm rather new to BT/MW I enjoy the Game of thrones in Space thing going on could do without the order of toaster worshipers trying to violently repress/regress civilization as a whole but thats just how the setting is I suppose.
