middle grounders? bah. As long as they get to grill, most of them don't care.
They care more than people give them credit for, and they vastly outnumber the extremists.
Or rather, they care once it affects them.
Media effects them. Most people don't want woke in everything. Most people are totally fine with diversity and inclusion.
Nobody really cares if a character is gay. They do care when the character is gay, and you better believe we will KNOW the character is gay, and the gay character is the hero and can do nothing wrong, everyone who disagrees with the gay character is a horrible monster, and the villain is definitely a straight white man who is using his straight white privilege to keep gay hero down.
Do it once... cool interesting story. Do it in a niche work targeted at a specific demographic? Cool. Do it in like, all of mainstream media now? Ok, enough.
It's awesome to have people represented in media. It doesn't need to be the focus of media, and it doesn't need to come at the expense of other groups. Diversity is wonderful! Keep it coming, but keep it coming the right way.
I remember when "diversity" meant like, an Italian guy, a black guy, an Irish woman, a Mexican woman, an Australian guy, an Indian guy. Now it means "No white ppl"
