Oh dear, even the Lefties are turning on RTD and the new Doctor. The Left always eat their own.
Give us a TLDR too. I don't want to bite the clickbait.

That is not, in fact, what he was saying.
Same.I read this in Morgan Freeman's narrative voice.

Excuse my lack of Dr Who lore knowledge, can Timelords actually even be gay? They aren't human after all.So, Gatwa, the living stereotype of mincing gay people out there, has openly said that the Doctor is going to be gay.
Basically, he's not playing the Doctor; he's playing himself as the Doctor.
So, yeah. We're gonna have a mincing gay Doctor. facepalm I'd say this isn't going to go as well as they're expecting, but they honestly don't care if they make themselves into a clown show for the world to see.
I daresay there are gay Timelords/ladies out there; point is, the Doctor has always been either attracted to women (he's a grandfather, and has been married to River Song, had a thing for Rose Tyler which was spun off with the Metacrisis Tenth Doctor) or uninterested.Excuse my lack of Dr Who lore knowledge, can Timelords actually even be gay? Been done.I swear to god, if something like the Cybermen existed in real life, all they’d have to do is throw up a thin facade about them being ‘non-gendered and ecologically friendly’ or some other BS and you’d get idiots praising them to the heavens and lining up to be converted.
That's the one by the Critical Role guys? If so, I mean they've gone full blown woke since at least campaign 2, so I'm really not surprised. The reviews coming out for Candela Obscura are great.
The game is so rules light it's literally missing rules like combat or dying, it preachy, goes on to say things like emulating insanity is problematic and immediately gives 'rules' for physical disabilities, etc.
Right? Everyone here probably expected shit like this.
There are so many reviews blasting it for being preachy and incomplete, and one lefty reviewer even had to give a rambling disclaimer about how he's expecting death threats from the uber tolerant lefty critters.
I really think it's a perfect example of going so incredibly woke you can't even criticize objective faults.
In the hobby, I think it's going to be the first major crack in showing people new to it why 'roleplaying' was initially developed and not 'storygaming,' and why so many people hate railroading. The 'rules' of Candela Obscura are 'meant' for a shorter campaign that's completely on the rails the entire time.
If you want to play an investigative, secret society, creeping horror game Vaessen and CoC are much better. Old Gods of Appalachia is another rules light, narrative heavy game much in the same vein as Candela Obscura but it at least has complete rules, and doesn't shy away from the dogshit that used to exist in ~1900s Appalachia.

Soooo.....every table top session ever. It'll probably be another 'streamlined,' 'rules light' story game that works really well on the rails but falls to pieces the instant any pressure is actually applied.

I'm only addressing that every session is going to have 'that guy' that builds his character to break the system and be the "MOST POWERFUL WHAT'SITS EVAH!!! MUWHAAHHAHAHHAHAHH!!!" I usually get 3 of those when I run games. I like making them cry.I take offense to that.

That's...ok, not a game I'm gonna play. If there's no risk, what's the point of playing?Like Candela Obscura, if you don't want the horror to eat you? Don't attack it. The rules are such that if you don't engage in combat or risky physical behavior you cannot be hurt physically because the GM rolls explicitly nothing and thus cannot act against you. And since they don't have rules for growing insane, because those are problematic, you cannot be hurt mentally.
Wish I had that luxury. I don't live in an area with an active enough community to have that option.I never get any, because I handpick my players carefully :V
