What If? Your Avatar to the Rescue.

Out-of universe I always assumed they were deliberately going for a Zorro look to give Wesley that devilish-rogue swashbuckler vibe. I mean I really could see him sailing out across the sea to the new world and having a rousing adventure with Don Diego.
Zorro is the bridge between literary heroes like The Scarlet Pipernel - who did not wear a disguise but did use a nom de guerre - and aristocratic comic book heroes like Batman who do wear a cape and mask.

We should start a new thread to explore this because it's not on topic here.

Sisko could just beam the One Ring off of Frodo and into the depths of the lava pit in less than the amount of time it would take him to get a cup of raktajino from a replicator.
Ahh...but What IF, while the One Ring is contained within the transporter buffer...it awakens the Defiant's Computer to true AI status? Does the Enterprise suddenly go, "My Precious!!!" and transport a fake ring into Mordor? Does is then fake all the sensor readings to show that Mordor collapses and Middle Earth continues on.

Then Sisko & Crew along with Defiant Gollum carry on their adventures the other tasks while the One Ring is conveniently wrapped around a deeply buried power conduit in the ships computer core...

This sorta makes me think of how Jr. Captain Lindewe or Sr. Lieutenant Kirika from my story Tintagel would handle it.

USS Defiant is 67-68 times more massive than LRS Hailee but far less advanced and powerful in every way but two: the Llyrians do not have replicators or transporters so they'd need to shuttle the One Ring and the fellowship to Mount Doom so Frodo can toss it into the lava.

See? That's why its important to beam Frodo with the ring into Mount Doom. That way he bears the brunt of the burden and temptation of the One Ring and, hopefully, the Defiant computer can resist long enough to rematerialize the hobbit into molten lava. xD

@Sailor.X So how are avatars that represent a whole organization, especially one that is political and has massive resources? My avatar is the symbol of the Great House Hlaalu... so would that mean that the entire organization is transported? And if so when...

Because, one entire TES organization can be a massive force multiplier, especially if they can access some of the higher tier personages in the setting.

It is all of the named members in this mission. So if the NPC has a name it is part of the mission. And as stated before you have a base of operations to work from in each mission.

Well, there are multiple games from which to draw on. So there should be plenty of members who can accomplish goals, especially sneaky ones. They also, have Helseth with them, and he is one of the sneakiest bastards to ever bastard...

See here,

Why would you assume that would happen?

After the M-5 incident I'd think that the Federation would go out of its way to prevent its shipboard computers from going rogue or developing sentience.
If nothing else because they don't want to "enslave" sentient beings.

When it comes to the One Ring, I think the Emperor would essentially crush it in the palm of his hand. Either that or go on a gentle stroll into Mordor himself to drop it off in the Crack of Doom.

In this scenario the ROB is taking your Avatar and sending it on a few missions in the Multiverse. Here are the missions.

1: NBSG. Your Avatar appears 1 week before the fall of Caprica. It's mission is to either warn the Human Fleet of the impending Cylon Attack or Neutralize the Cylon Skin jobs in the fleet.

2: The Lord of the Rings. Your Avatar appears just before the fellowship of the ring is formed. Your Avatars task is to protect Frodo and help him get the Ring to Mount Doom. Brownie points if you bump off Saurons forces along the way.

3: Terminator 3. Your Avatars mission is to stop Judgement Day. All tactics are fair.

4: A Quiet Place 2. Your Avatars mission is to help humanity stop the Alien monsters. Your Avatar arrive one week before they do.

5: Jeepers Creeper. Your Avatar must find a way to help defeat the Creeper.

6: The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad. Your Avatar must help Sinbad and his crew get the Magic Lamp for the wizard in order to restore the Princess to normal size. Or do so by other means.

7: Clash of the Titans. Your Avatar must find a way to defeat the Kraken. All tactics fair.

Your Avatar will act like they normally do and will approach the situation from that perspective. However in extraordinary situations they can bend their normal morals to get the job done. Your Avatar will also have access to all the gear and equipment they normally have by act of ROB up to and including a Base of operations. And if your Avatar is a vehicle or ship they will have whatever named crew they would normally have doing the mission. So what does your Avatar do in each of the missions? Can they make a difference?

Edit: If your Avatar is Gigantic the ROB will scale it down to the size of Legendary Godzilla.

1. Probably goes badly, considerng Shoto's basically socially inept.

2. Nazgul have a very bad time. Fire wielder + Nazgul's fear of fire... yeah. Other than that, though, I don't think much changes. In fact, if Sauron can sense powerful magic, then Fellowship might well be better off without Shoto joining them.

3.-7. No clue, as I have little to no knowledge of these universes.

For scenarios 1 through 3 I'm pretty sure a refitted Haylcon class light cruiser with full crew and at least 1 Smart AI can do the job. For the other ones don't know enough about the settings to make the call

It's Roman God of War Mars.

So all mythology for him I guess would work.

So take of that as you will

And here I thought you were either the cover of John Ringo's book that predicted a version of COVID with Shillary as president or some rando Caesar groupie from FO:NV.

Nah the armor looks to good to be FO:NV and idk what that first one is.

Nope just found a badass picture of Mars on google

This, and it sort of predicts COVID and the damage the greens have done and the "Sumemr of Love" sort of.

But it did not predict Trump.

The issue is that the 'beaming' is not from Point A (Frodo's Location) straight to Point B (Mount Doom). Whatever a ship transports must pass through its transporter buffers before getting to its destination. That's where the trouble happens! ;)

Because it's the One Ring. And because it's funny! ;)

I'm just imagining Frodo's disembodied voice shouting "My Precious" as he and the Defiant computer fight over possession of the ring.
