Good news is that the Judge didn't align with the Jury's ruling, and "ruled today that the parents will have joint conservatorship over James, which includes making joint medical decisions for the child." So the fight to prevent irreversable harm will continue.

However, the judge ALSO "put a gag order on the father so that he cannot speak to the press about the case and decided that the father is not required to pay attorney fees. The judge’s decision means that the Save James website will have to be shut down. "

No word on if the woman is similarly gagged, but I'd lay money she's not. I've always found these kinds of things rather... suspect. Judges putting gag orders on folks regarding cases seems like a way to prevent them from getting help or keeping others informed, and frequently against public interest...

That is unlikely to hold up in the long term, because the Governor of Texas has already decided to have the Texas Dept. of Justice and Texas Child Protective Services look into the case.

The gag may keep the father from talking to the press for now, but it won't stop concerned parties from investigating the case on their own and won't stop people from digging into the mother's BS. The father can probably appeal the gag ruling to, and if it's not put on the mother as well, would probably get it reversed.

The judge just seems to be more doing a CYA for themselves with these rulings, because they know the case has blown up publicly.

Madness like this is one of the reason I've grown to despise the trans community as a political entity; because this is the world they've created in their desperation to convince the world, and thereby themselves, that there is nothing wrong with them. The mother is clearly projecting her own mental damage onto her son, and is going to mutilate him with the aid and blessing of the state; this is state-sanctioned child abuse, plain and simple.

Some important points:

• CPS investigated the case, and they found that the father's claim that the mother pushed her child to be transgender was false, and that the child legitimately identified as a girl.
• The child in this case would only be socially transitioning at the time (e.g. growing her hair long, wearing feminine clothes if she wants). She wouldn't even be taking puberty blockers for years.
• The father explicitly cited his religious beliefs as one of the main reasons why he didn't want the child to transition. He also has mentioned that he outright forbids the child from wearing girls clothes and claimed that the child's psychologist is unreliable on account of her being a lesbian.
