When and if they ultimately do get it, they will mostly die. These so-called Palestinians are just the dregs of the Arab world, useful to their supposed kinsmen (and other religious confederates, e.g. the Iranians) only as proxies. Once things escalate in the region and everybody has more pressing priorities, literally nobody will care about this specific cohort of Arabic squatters.
After all, if their fellow Arabs cared about them as humans, they'd have absorbed them long ago. Egypt would open the borders in Arabic solidarity. But no. After their failed wars of agression against Israel, the Arab nations have categorically refused to absord the expelled Arabs. They even invented a nationality ("Palestinians") to set them apart. They deliberately created a refugee crisis in this way; one that persists until the present.
This could and should all be ended by just sending all the Arabs across the border into Arabia, so that even the fiction of a "Palestine" cannot be maintained, and the so-called "Palestinians" just become recognised as what they are: Arabs among other Arabs.
But it seems that this more humane solution is not going to be enacted, and that it will instead come down to the knife-choice that defines all problems that have been left to rot for too long. Recent events show all too well that the Arabs will never choose peace.
And so it shall be war, until the matter is solved permanently. And because the most humane and desirable solution -- expulsion -- is constantly rejected, the less humane and less desirable option -- extermination -- becomes ever more likely. The only question is who will do the exterminating, and who gets exterminated.
That's the bitter reality of problems that aren't decisively solved in time. They still get solved; but with the sword, instead of the scalpel.
