Which is a fine and good explanation except that these were not the average people of China, these were people working in a lab handling hazardous materials; the doctor in question herself was already examining crossover events between human and rodent based diseases which she knew to be contagious.
The explanation in the video is based on a man whose academic career covers such things as '
Exploring the Differential Effects of Online Reviews on Film's Box-Office Success: Source Identity and Brand Equity From an Integrated Perspective' He is not a qualified source on this, he was not an employee of the laboratory itself.
What that video proposes is that a woman with a series of advanced level qualifications in microbiology and virology worked with infectious animals without safety clothing, allowed said animals urine and blood to then come into contact with her face, did not clean this contact and took no actions to ensure that others within the lab knew about the contact or took any steps to try and minimise the chances of spreading once she was aware that contact had taken place.
Essentially she walked into a lab with animals she knew for a fact could transmit a virus to humans (as that was the subject of her initial research as two already existing cases of crossover had occurred) and let them piss on her face.
That's not plausible, that's
insane.
