The problem is that different developers took different ideas from different areas of prior role-playing. The Rogue-like barebones cRPG that had just enough computing resources to roll the dice gave way almost perfectly simultaneously to several very different styles.

The thing is that even Fallout 4 has good foundations, if of different character than 3/NV or the TES titles. For quite a lot of things, it's a better foundation because the settlement and weapon crafting systems can be readily reused to do a lot with relative ease compared to the shenanigans it...

Actually it's that the soda company's chemists did the coating on that prototype. It's like if a seemingly-random paint factory got a prototype stealth bomber hanging in its HQ because its' where the rather-complicated paintjob for the production units came from. The visual retcon take is...

The original Enclave armor didn't have a model number, just "Advanced Power Armor" and "Advanced Power Armor Mark II". Them being the resumption of development of a platform started pre-war fits in just fine with all the repurposing of FEV and lingering infrastructure the Enclave gets up to. The...

So, watched some lore videos, stumbled into a Bethesda continuity fuckup. "Advanced Power Armor Mark II" ended up reused to refer to the "Black Devil" power armor in Fallout 3, when it was already used in Fallout 2. The Creation Club hand-wave is obviously wrong because the "Black Devil" armor...

Fallout 4 actually shows you the expected trajectory of its dedicated grenade key, complete with a highlighted impact point if in line of sight, so that works fine enough. The likely issue is that this is a separate function from the normal weapon firing, so it'd take low-level engine work to...

The only games with mechanics amenable to accurate implementation are New Vegas and Fallout 4. The former has ammunition-switching with variable weapon wear so if there's support for animation and model swapping it can handle most of them, while the latter's weapon modifications can be used for...

With the New Plague, active use of tactical nukes in the Alaskan conflict, and ideological differences grown to Nonstop Crimes Against Humanity, NBC threats are a lot more pressing than today, and the tech is rather broadly absurd for this to be a trivial investment. The ones that did not do...

How many robotics were just fine into Fallout 4? And what makes you think any military has any vehicle that isn't NBC-capable by the Great War? Cost to field vehicles "should" gradually escalate as supplies to maintain in active use are depleted, not a switch flipped and suddenly all your tanks...

Will they finally rid themselves of the heightmap terrain with its resource-devouring cave problem? Put each kind of process on a separate thread? Re-implement a Path of Last Resort where the player does everything in the main story themselves without a single word to an NPC? Have sidequest NPCs...

...That is dramatically incoherent with the measures the Enclave literally had to take to try that, particularly the talking Deathclaws in FO2. If they were made as front-line shock troops, why the fuck can't they be trained as-is?

Deployed As Designed Deathclaws. The things were terror weapons, made to be chucked behind enemy lines and fuck shit up as nigh-immortal monsters. They are not a Random Bullshit of the Wasteland, they are, like Cazedors, a maliciously intentional horror that unexpectedly led to sustainable...

IIRC, the duel is accepted by shooting back, so if you have a stupidly-powerful sniper weapon or missile stockpile you can punish annoying PVPers relentlessly by alpha-striking them to pieces.
