The NAFFI at the Merville Barracks in the Colchester Garrison was as lively as always as members of the 2nd Battalion Parachute Regiment, and soldiers from regiments that were based out of the Barracks came in and out as the grabbed various snacks and drinks or to meet their mates. Others moved to the tables that were set up nearby the bar with various drinks. It was around one of these tables that Privates Hawker and Collins, as along with Lance Corporal Mills, sat.

"So what do you think?" asked Collins.

"About what? The recent Footy game?" said Mills with a snort as he took a swig of his pint.

"No," Collins said sharply, "how the IRA thought it would be a good idea to try and kill the PM."

"Yeah, I heard about that Collins," Mills said with a sigh, "I don't think there isn't anyone who hasn't heard about it! Seriously mate, you need to learn how to understand sarcasm."

Before Collins could make a stupid remark, Hawker cut him off, "So what do you think they will shave us off with part of 5th Brigade? Don't fancy going into that quagmire to do police work."

"From what's coming down the grapevine," Mills said, "No it looks like the 5th is being held as out of continent response as usual HQ Northern Ireland has the 8th Infantry Brigade and 39th Infantry Brigade already, and there is talk of reforming the 3rd Infantry Brigade have no idea if that going to go through or not."

"Bloody white papers," Hawker grunted, and they all nodded.

Collins then asked, "Any idea if they're sending additional Special Forces out to Northern Ireland?"

"You wally," Hawker said, "how would he know that?"

"He could have heard something," Collins said defensively, "he is pretty much wired into the rumour mill."

"They've always been in the country, you know that Collins," Mills said with a sigh, "they always keep a close eye on Northern Ireland. Right now, though, they are liable to see an increase in their sections, though."

"True," Hawker said, "that's just good sense still, though with all these Parahumans as the rags and the Yanks are calling them what a bunch of oddballs are starting to make people nervous, and also I imagine they will get some funny looks too as well as some hate."

"True," Mills said, downing his pint, "then again, anyone who can shoot a laser out their arse or the like probably won't get many insults chucked at them."

"True," Collins said, finishing his pint, "I doubt many of them are bulletproof if we have to tangle with them though we should just be happy we have some on our side."

"Who Guardian and Saber? That press conference she did was cracking," Mills said, "they seem ok made her a minister wonder what she looks like under that mask? Bet she is a looker, I wonder..."

"Don't try it," Hawker said as he finished his pint, "she seems like someone who already has a ring on her finger."

"Oh, and how do you know?" Collin asked.

"because I'm a married man genius," Hawker said, "anyways another round?"

Both men nodded, and Hawker headed to the bar to grab the next round, and Colin looked to mills, who had a frown on his face.

    "What wrong?" asked Collin.

"I don't know, but I just got the same feeling I did before we assaulted Wireless Ridge," Mills said as he finished his, "something big is about to happen."

"We won that battle," said Collins, then added, "and the war."

"Aye," said Mills as Hawker came back with the beer, "hopefully we will win whatever is coming too."
