There are many things we can discuss in regards to Andrew Yang's somewhat surprising performance in the 2020 elections. One of the first if not thee first Asian-American who was a 'serious' primary contender. His use of social media and the internet to propel his campaign. How his campaign turned from a joke campaign to one taken very seriously and came in sixth in Iowa outlasting far more established candidates (like Castro, Harris, Booker and other assorted minorities), the fact he had a fully laid out campaign well before any of the other competitors did, and of course his vociferous backing of the idea of Universal Basic Income and what he believed would be a technological revolution of automation that would be a great challenge of our near future similar to the Industrial Revolution.
But far more important then all of that... easily the most important thing to take from this race.
ANDREW YANG IS ASIAN!
Oh... I guess (MS)NBC finally noticed him.
But yes... it was only eleven months ago when the White Nationalist Joe Rogan featured Andrew Yang on his podcast (several weeks/months) before The Daily Show would treat him and his campaign like a joke with contemptuous racial stereotypes.
Rest in Peace Dear Asian who knows Math.

Andrew Yang's run is over, but its significance for Asian Americans will linger, experts say
“The optics of an Asian American candidate commanding such widespread support, both in rallies and on social media, signals to aspiring Asian American politicians that there is a pathway for them,” one sociologist said.
