China in it's current form absolutely won't survive. but depending on how things go china may end up better than we do. both got major issues that they've ignored for decades that they refuse to address. in this case china having a harder fall may mean they actually will be willing to make the changes needed before we are. there is also the chance that a 3rd power ends up growing stronger than either china or america. bit of an outside shot but it is there.

China will not be a major world power. You can't be when you are literally facing a demographic timebomb in less than 5 years time.
They're certainly trying though, and they've managed to convince a sizable portion of the Western world to buy into their "inevitable" rise to power; which is going to be hilarious when their investments into China evaporate, and they all suddenly find themselves without their Chinese sugar daddy.

China has it far worse than we do though, thanks to, among other things, the fact that their entire system of governance is rotten to the core. At least we have a decent foundation in the form of our Constitution and Bill of Rights to work towards and fall back on; the Chinese are going to have to start over from scratch.

if they have a decade of terrible times they have the population to emerge as something able to build itself back up at the end of it. if we have a few decades of cancer and chemo to go through before we are healthy again who knows where we will be relative to each other at the end of it.

What makes you think the "terrible times" in China will last only a decade?

Because if things get bloody, and they likely will, people will not want to be at war forever. it could turn into a low slow burn with multiple insurgencies fighting the government and each other. I doubt it. They may split up into multiple nations or they may push for a very different government with border concessions made where they don't believe they can hold the territory. China has existed in one form or another for damn near 3000 years. betting that this will be the time where they die off for good strikes me as unlikely.

I don't think you understand the situation in China, if you think a violent overthrow of the existing government is even a remote possibility; let alone that they'd replace it with one that's even marginally less corrupt. For one thing, the Chinese military will have no qualms using their full might to crush any and all uprisings. It's not like here in America, where our soldiers are our fellow citizens; the CCP spend an exorbitant amount of time and effort into brainwashing their soldiers into being loyal solely to them, not the country as a whole or its citizenry. Even if they could overcome that, they'd then run into the issue that, culturally speaking, the Chinese have become incredibly short-sighted, selfish, and ignorant; thus, any government they try to establish as a replacement will reflect these qualities.

Who knows, maybe the Chinese people will beat the odds; but my bet is that the CCP, or something like them, will remain in control of China for generations to come, until the country eventually sinks to the level of your bog standard tin-pot dictatorship. Think North Korea, if you want something to compare it to.

China as of now is a one man who Xi purged any one who disagrees with him any one who was copetent once he dies there is no replacement and any general with an army has a chance to become top dog to be the one in charge.

Russia is likewise in a similar situation.

I get the situation. I just also get that the question isn't who is more fucked. the question is who can recover better from when the systemic issues of their country catch up. I just am not dismissing out of hand their ability to recover while recognizing that America has its own issues that the establishment will do everything in their power to avoid addressing. and if they can put it off long enough then when the bill comes due it will be that much worse for us. could we remove our heads from our asses and actually start trying to make things better starting tomorrow? yes. will that happen? no. things are gonna get worse before they get better.

That's China's real advantage, pretty much every one is some flavor of fucked and when they head into the shit storm the west will be so consumed with its bullshit that they really wont be able to interfer with china's internal problems. They will most likely have the needed time to reconsitute themselves as the past CCP system fails and is replaced by something far less retarded.

Like wise the west after it finally pulls its head out of its ass (this will be a very painful process) will likewise look pretty good.

The longterm is good but getting there....not going to be fun.

Normally, you would be right. But - they are commies, they could just kill all eldery who do not belong to important commie families.

The communist ideology has pretty much lost most or near all of its legitimacy, there is a good bet that the military would look at that very primal violation of chinese values and decide that it would be safer to kill the communists then let them retain power.

After all there is a difference between being too dangerous to fuck with and too dangerous to let live.

One of the relevant factors for post-CCP China, is that hundreds of millions of Chinese have become Christians over the last 40-50 years.

The CCP persecutes them, like it does all religious groups to some degree or another, but once they are no longer actively excluded from political power and their effects on culture are no longer suppressed, there's any number of guesses how things will change.

The Old People are like 60% of their population. And growing. The one child policy fucked China. It will take 3 decades to equalize the situation.
Indeed. But,for commies,it is just another reason to kill all eldery people except themselves.

Mao and communism destroyed the soul of china, and left a massive spiritual vacume no one knows what will replace it but once communism ends that void will be filled by something.

God's Judgement is falling on the CCP. Even regular Chinese citizens are seeing it as the fact now.

Now China is funding America's PUBLIC SCHOOLS: Communist nation has channeled $17M into more than 143 K-12 districts - sparking GOP probe

  • The money is funneled through Confucius Institutes and other cultural and language programs
  • Rep. Jim Banks is demanding the Education Department take action with 'urgency'
  • The CCP is targeting schools to close to military bases

China is funding America's public schools to the tune of $17 million dollars, it has been revealed, with Republicans now probing the disturbing donations.

The report by Parents Defending Education states that the close coordination between the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and U.S. schools to establish Confucius Classrooms has historically included 143 school districts in 34 states and Washington, D.C.

In addition, at least seven contracts are still active in Texas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Oregon and Washington.

The report called 'Little Red Classrooms' reveals that $17 million has been funneled from CCP-connected financial institutions into U.S. K-12 schools, through Confucius Institutes and other cultural and language programs.

It also states that the CCP has 'ties to school districts near 20 U.S. military bases' and three of the nation's top science and technology high schools have been infiltrated.

'While the United States is not officially part of China's Belt and Road Initiative, Chinese state media has touted the work done by Confucius Institutes and Confucius Classrooms to further the Chinese Communist Party's global influence,' the report continues.

China has facilitated these relationships through grants and sister school partnerships going back to 2009. Programming and funding has varied between school districts, the report adds.

PDE President Nicki Neily said in a statement that the 'alarming evidence' uncovered by the investigation should 'concern parents, educators, and policymakers alike.'

The report has been given to state and federal lawmakers in the hopes that it will spur action.

Rep. Jim Banks is demanding the Education Department take action with 'urgency' in in order to terminate these 'disturbing' partnerships, he says in a letter to Sec. Miguel Cardona on Wednesday obtained by DailyMail.com.

'The Chinese Communist Party is not a trustworthy partner. Accepting funding and influence from our greatest adversary is a threat to America's children and national security,' Banks told DailyMail.com.

He wrote in the letter that the U.S. must 'take every measure' to strengthen its defenses against China including by 'blocking their ability to propagandize in America's K-12 schools.'

The congressman - who sits on the newly-established House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party - is asking for immediate action from the Biden administration.

He also noted that under former President Donald Trump, the State Department in designated Confucius Institutes a 'foreign mission,' which helped shut down some of these 'dangerous programs.'

Rep. Mike Waltz, R-Fla., told DailyMail.com the report is 'alarming' because 'we truly don't understand the full extent of Communist China's meddling in our education system.'

'Not only is the CCP trying to promote their propaganda through education programs but are using Chinese shell companies to outright buy American private schools around the country.'

He is urging state governments, along with federal assistance, to start 'cracking down on the targeting of our children.'

Waltz has also sounded the alarm on Chinese-owned schools in the U.S. with Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) programs.

He has asked the Pentagon to survey those schools because he views it as a grave national security threat.

Sen. Roger Marshall told DailyMail.com that the Parents Defending Education report should 'alarm' every American parent, especially because the CCP is targeting schools to close to military bases.

The Kansas senator introduced a new bill Tuesday that would prohibit federal agencies from funding research in China or 'any entity' owned by China.

'From buying our farmland to setting up CCP police stations here on U.S. soil, stealing our intellectual property, spying on our military bases, and now buying their way into our children's K-12 schools, it is past time for this administration to wake up and realize what we are up against,' he told DailyMail.com.

According to the 2021 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), the Pentagon is prohibited from providing money to 'institution of higher education that hosts a Confucius Institute' after October 1, 2023.

As a result, since the 2021 NDAA passage, over 100 U.S. universities shut down their Confucius Institutes.

As of March 2023, the National Association of Scholars counts a total of 13 Confucius Institutes in the U.S. - with over 108 closing or in the process of closing.

House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party Chairman Mike Gallagher worked to have Alfred University in New York's Confucius Institute closed in recent weeks.

The university obtained a five-year $13.5 million taxpayer-funded research grant in 2022 to by the Pentagon to conduct hypersonic weapons research.

Gallagher took issue with national security concerns he had about millions in Pentagon funds going to a CCP-linked university.

In a June 13 letter obtained by DailyMail.com, university attorney Robert Fisher responded to Gallagher saying Alfred University has decided to close the Confucius Institute 'as of June 30, 2023.'

Gallagher told DailyMail.com regarding PDE's report that the CCP cannot be allowed to 'influence the American education system,' adding 'America's children deserve better.'

There are four additional universities who host a Confucius Institute and have been awarded a DOD grant - University of Toledo, University of Utah, St. Cloud State University and Wesleyan College.

House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul, R-Texas, told DailyMail.com that it's 'ridiculous' there aren't measures 'protecting our children from CCP influence.'

'Learning languages and cultures critical to national security, like Chinese, is essential, but it shouldn't come with Communist propaganda and influence,' he added.

In 2019, the FBI found that 'foreign state adversaries seek to illicitly or illegitimately acquire U.S. academic research and information to advance their scientific, economic, and military development goals.

FBI Director Chris Wray outlined the threat in a 2020 speech, saying China pays scientists at U.S. universities to 'secretly bring our knowledge and innovation back to China—including valuable, federally funded research.'

Communist China's funding of America's public schools sparks GOP probe

Communist China has inserted itself into America's public school system, donating $17 million to influence students and now Republicans are demanding answers.

Parents Defending Education has issued a report called "Little Red Classrooms" that shows how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is coordinating with US schools to implement Confucius Classrooms which have, over time, included 143 school districts in 34 states and Washington, D.C.

Seven of those contracts with the CCP are still active in states such as Kentucky, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, and Washington.

CCP-connected financial institutions have funneled the donations into K-12 schools through Confucius Institutes and other cultural and language programs, according to the report.

The report also claims that the CCP has "ties to school districts near 20 US military bases" as well as three of the nation's top science and technology high schools.

"While the United States is not officially part of China's Belt and Road Initiative, Chinese state media has touted the work done by Confucius Institutes and Confucius Classrooms to further the Chinese Communist Party's global influence," the report asserts.

This infiltration has been going on since 2009 using grants and sister school partnerships.

Parents Defending Education President Nicki Neily pointed out in a statement that the "alarming evidence" uncovered by the group's probe should "concern parents, educators, and policymakers alike."

Thirty-four governors, key lawmakers, and committee chairs were provided a copy of the report on Wednesday, according to Fox News.

Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.) is demanding that the Department of Education act with "urgency" to put a halt to these "disturbing" partnerships. In a letter sent to Sec. Miguel Cardona on Wednesday, Banks made it crystal clear that he expects action to be taken, according to a copy obtained by the Daily Mail.

"The Chinese Communist Party is not a trustworthy partner. Accepting funding and influence from our greatest adversary is a threat to America's children and national security," Banks told the Daily Mail in an interview.

The congressman stressed in his letter that the US has to "take every measure" to strengthen its defenses against China including "blocking their ability to propagandize in America's K-12 schools."

Banks noted that under former President Trump, the State Department designated Confucius Institutes a "foreign mission," which facilitated the shutting down of some of these "dangerous programs."

Rep. Mike Waltz (R-Fla.) told the Daily Mail in an interview that the report is "alarming" because "we truly don't understand the full extent of Communist China's meddling in our education system."

"Not only is the CCP trying to promote their propaganda through education programs but are using Chinese shell companies to outright buy American private schools around the country," he charged.

Waltz wants states and the federal government to start "cracking down on the targeting of our children."

He also warned about Chinese-owned schools in the US with Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) programs. Waltz sees them as a national security threat.

Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) told the Daily Mail in an interview that the report should "alarm" every American parent considering the CCP is targeting schools close to military bases. He introduced a bill on Tuesday that would prohibit federal agencies from funding research in China or "any entity" owned by China.

"From buying our farmland to setting up CCP police stations here on US soil, stealing our intellectual property, spying on our military bases, and now buying their way into our children's K-12 schools, it is past time for this administration to wake up and realize what we are up against," he told the Daily Mail.

Over 108 Confucius Institutes at US universities have shut down or are closing. As of March, the National Association of Scholars says there are a total of 13 Confucius Institutes still operating in the US.

House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party Chairman Mike Gallagher was very instrumental in shutting down New York's Confucius Institute. Unbelievably, Alfred University in New York was awarded a five-year $13.5 million taxpayer-funded research grant in 2022 by the Pentagon to conduct hypersonic weapons research. They were literally funding our biggest enemy's warfare research.

Four other universities host a Confucius Institute and have been given a DOD grant, including the University of Toledo, the University of Utah, St. Cloud State University, and Wesleyan College.

House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) told the Daily Mail in an interview that it's "ridiculous" there aren't measures "protecting our children from CCP influence."

"Learning languages and cultures critical to national security, like Chinese, is essential, but it shouldn't come with Communist propaganda and influence," he contended.
