China ChiCom News Thread

sigh Sounds par the course with Chinese parents.

Don't tell me, they didn't want a girl so they sold her?

They thought the school would turn her into the perfect obedient child. With heavy belief in the perfect part.
She's a woman. They can't carry the family name nor provide for their parents in old age due to the wage gap and culturally enforced gender based jobs. She'll never have a successful high level position unless she finds a high level CCP official as her sugar daddy. To attract those you need perfect flawless skin and be at least a nine on a ten point beauty scale.

The presenter is not the victim. She is just covering the incidents. And boys and girls got the same treatment at that hellhole.

...Yeah, that sort of thing usually backfires horribly, especially if a "final test" is involved, like destroying her parents' lives or shooting them or something.

This is supposed to be a trope for fiction only, god damn it. smh
Oh yeah I would not be surprised if some of those parents are gonna get accidentaled by their grown children in the future.

“You’re a throught criminal.”

Chairman Mao as a ghost, colorized:

Mao was overweight and shorter.

True, but you know what I'm getting at here. :p

At any rate, I suppose the CCP's efforts to scrub memories of Mao's crimes from the record are paying off. Because now, the current Chinese leadership can get away with bringing back his tactics to serve their own ends, much to the obliviousness of the Chinese public.

That his ghost is a woman? . . . I don't get it. Is she an American celebrity of some sort?

It's Nancy Pelosi, current speaker of the US House of Representatives and a top Democrat. In short, yet another geriatric oligarch who won't give up their seat, just like most of America's current leadership. :cautious:

But no, the point is that Mao's ghost is rubbing his hands together with glee, much as Pelosi's doing in the GIF. He may be dead, but his tactics live on — and unlike their elders who lived under him, the current generation of Chinese has little idea what kind of horrors await, thanks to the CCP scrubbing those memories from the record.

Pelsoi hasn't been speaker for awhile now actually

Ah, my bad. Must have that image of her sitting in the top right burned into my brain still. 🤷

Otherwise, I think we've seen more than enough evidence of China's rot to dispel all that "Chinese Century" hype we were getting 10 years ago. By current decade's end, I expect the media to sweep all that under the rug, kind of like how the Western press's fawning over what a "grand experiment" the USSR was in the '20s and '30s got memory-holed as soon as its true colors started coming to light.

Well to be fair she didn't give up her power voluntarily she only left because the DNC lost thier majority position. If they hadn't you can bet your ass she wouldn't have stepped down willingly.
