As far as I recall that is a common practice in China, with sea ferries over certain tonnage having to be modified for dual purpose. It's possible they slacked off on this practice in the past and are catching up again.

Looks like the Hong Kong Police adopted a new Goosestepping style march for their Handover Anniversary Celebration last month. It's a step adopted from the ChiCom's Red Chinese military and makes them look like dweebs.

I dig the oldschool M16 rifles though. Least they didn't throw everything away to adapt ChiCom military tradition. British derived uniforms are kinda nice as well I suppose. Prefer something more pithy but its the police after all. Diversity is Hong Kong's strength.
