[] | Name | Qualifications | Commentary |
[] | Victoria Lancaster | Current Deputy to General Jenkins, Lieutenant General in the Imperial Griffon Army, past CO of the 3rd Infantry Division | She’s done excellent work as my deputy, in addition to her success as a Division commander. She’s only been my deputy for a year, however, and has relatively little experience in the political and policy arena.
- Strengths
- Continuity of advice
- Infantry focus
- Weaknesses
- Poor understanding of political considerations
- Has a very poor reputation among Mechwarriors for her noted disdain for the Battlemech
|
[] | Andre Honigman | Rear Admiral in the Imperial Griffon Navy, has served as Chief of Personnel for the Navy and has had a distinguished career running the Naval Academies | I’m reluctant to recommend Admiral Honigman, not because he isn’t qualified or wouldn’t be excellent at the job, but because I know he’d hate it and he’s worked minor miracles managing recruitment and training for the Navy. We need him badly where he’s at, but I’d be doing him and the Empire a disservice if I didn’t at least bring him to your attention in this regard.
- Strengths
- Amazing recruiter and trainer
- Weaknesses
- Would well and truly hate the position and would probably try to retire back to training every time you talk to him
|
[] | Kirsten Hanover | Lieutenant General in the Imperial Griffon Aerospace Force, commander of all carrier based ASF wings, multi-Ace in combat against the Black Steel | She’s a hot-shot pilot in the mold of your great-aunt Thanh. Extremely cocky, almost as good as she says she is, and will never admit that she only graduated second in her class at the Aerie.
- Strengths
- Extremely well-liked by all who meet her
- Weaknesses
- No experience outside of ASF combat
- Incredibly cocky
|
[] | Elijah Poole | Retired Army, final rank was Brigadier General. Currently the Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee and considered a stalwart advocate for the soldiers and sailors of the military. | I know he’s now a politician, but his retirement was the result of combat injuries on Okusawa, since then he’s been the military's single greatest advocate in the Imperial Senate and has proven that his loyalty is to the Empire, not to his own position.
- Strengths
- Extremely savvy political operator
- Weaknesses
- You need him in the Senate to keep them from having Bright Ideas
- He might be stubborn enough to decline the position due to the above.
|
[] | Alina Barber | Retired Navy, final rank Commodore. Past CO of HMS Morristown, has also served as CO of HMY Renown. Currently serves as the skipper of SS United States when you are on board and has impressed you with her competence and integrity. | I’m including Commodore Barber in the list for several reasons. You need somebody you can implicitly trust, and Commodore Barber has worked directly for you for a very long time indeed. You know her abilities and temperament, so there won’t be any need to get used to somebody you’ve not worked extensively with. That being said, she has little actually relevant experience in a High Command posting.
- Strengths
- You’ve trusted her with your and your kids lives countless times in the past
- She’s a friend as well as an advisor
- Weaknesses
- Has no relevant experience for the position outside of her relationship to you
|
[] | Edward Holland | Retired Army, final rank was Colonel. A well respected military analyst and commentator with a procurement background. | Colonel Holland is another medically retired officer, and the recipient of the Empire’s highest award for valor prior to his shifting to procurement. He currently is a close advisor of General Bradley and has been instrumental in her efforts to reform Army procurement.
- Strengths
- Excellent background in logistics and procurement
- Weaknesses
- His only combat experience was as a junior sergeant on Okusawa, he was commissioned from the ranks due to courage under fire.
- Has a highly contentious relationship with General Romanov
|
[] | Suzuki Komi | Retired Aerospace Force, multiple ace pilot, last posting was as chief of pilot training for the Aerospace Force before reaching mandatory retirement age from active duty. | You’ll only get a few years out of General Suzuki, but you’ll get a solid performer indeed. She’s been in Imperial service since your great-grandmother was a young queen, and if it weren’t for the fact that she’s old enough that even Imperial medical technology is insufficient to keep her going at 100% she’d probably still be terrorizing nugget pilots at the Aerie.
- Strengths
- Exceptionally experienced and knowledgeable
- Weaknesses
- Extremely old, unlikely to last more than two or three years before retiring again.
|
[] | Sebastiano Figura | Retired Aerospace Force, spent career in HQ positions and has a solid reputation as an organizational planner | Colonel Figura is a maverick in every sense of the word, and a genius when it comes to an OpPlan. He’s never seen combat, and I regret to say he’s a bit of a womanizer, having been divorced a half-dozen times. How he passed the security check is beyond me.
- Strengths
- Genius at operational planning
- Weaknesses
- Makes the legendary Tyler Lee look like a celibate monk
|
[] | Amaunet | A Grifftiger member of the Imperial Guard, one of the Eldest’s proteges. Too large now to leave Griffon safely, she has spent the last decade acting as the Grifftiger liaison with the Griffon Military, as well as advising the Eldest on military affairs. You have never once managed to beat her at chess or any other strategy game. | Amaunet is the current CO of all Grifftiger forces in the Imperial Guard, the first Grifftiger to graduate from the Aerie, is older than the Empire, heck, is older than the Kingdom that predated the Empire, and I have yet to meet the person brave enough to do less than their absolute best when under her gaze. She’s even managed to keep me from pulling practical jokes.
|
[] | Muramato Yoshimatsu | Retired Naval officer, an advocate of the jeaune e’cole school of naval thought and a constant thorn in Admiral Fisher's backside with his endless criticism of purchasing any unit larger than a corvette. | I’ll be honest, Your Majesty, I included Captain Yoshimatsu on the list purely to troll Admiral Fisher. While he’s smart, he’s not nearly as smart as he thinks he is, and what’s worse is convinced that anybody who disagrees with him is an idiot. There’s a reason his nickname is Sparky.
- Strengths
- Will give Admiral Fisher, and most of the rest of High Command, collective aneurysms
- Weaknesses
- Have you heard about the Lord and Savior M-113 Gavin?
