War is Peace
The Glowing sea happened because of the sheer quantity of nukes, East Coast canonically got hit harder and the idiots of Vault 76 didn't help by continuing the nukings to kill the Scorch Beasts

So 76 having rad storms is not unusual, they're more nuke happy.

They actually don't survive them without rad away

The glowing sea was only hit by a single bomb, My head cannon is that said bomb hit a nuclear power plant and that is why there is still so much lingering radiation.

That's true the Morphius rpg game mentions a single bomb caused the Glowing Sea but also that it was the "Largest" nuclear bomb in the Commonwealth that detonated.

It's probably the one we see in the intro level.

It is that one, When you find the Chinese sub the captain all but confirms it.
FO1 Game manual said that most nukes were 250-750 kilotons but there were some megaton yield nukes that were getting retired.

I'm gonna assume that the Chinese officer used a megaton nuke which also hit a nuclear reactor for the double whammy radiation.

Cracked open my GOG.com account to play through classic Fallout again and wow, the nostalgia for it has really worn off. I remember some years back I played through Fallout, Fallout 2 and actually got through Fallout 3 with the Broken Steel and other DLC's and even used the Restoration Patch for Fallout 2. The latter two games were pretty fun still but I remember the first one feeling really short, like I burned/binged through it pretty surprisingly quickly.

But playing it again now, it feels even rougher than the first time I played it ages ago as a kid, and not even as positive as when I played it a few years back. I was kinda surprised how shallow a lot of it is, at least with the side quests and everything. Just breezing through everything for the first half of the game. And its probably due to the passage of time as well as nostalgia. And yeah, it's also kind of boring... it's not bad... especially for a game released a hundred years ago, but it's definitely dated a fair bit. I'm still playing it, even if I pretty much get bored with it after like an hour of playing it each time I do.

Hopefully when I get to Fallout 2 it's still as glorious as I remember. ❤️

To add to this.

He will have

5x the HP of the MKII
Will be able to self repair at 2x the rate of MKII
Instead of shooting grenade rounds will shoot Mini Nukes
2x fire rate for missiles
And the laser gatling is replaced with a Plasma Caster.

I'll also give him an Invulnerability mechanic where a Hardlight dome from Sierra Madre tech will cover him as he repairs and players will have to destroy the generators.

Each time they get him to 25% a wave of Mister Gusty's will roll over and try to replace or repair the generators so they have to be killed or Mister House will return back to full HP.

This mod is absolutely required, It replaces those fugly pipe weapons with superior homemade guns.

Some of those look okay, but some still have the 'more likely to kill it's user' appearance to them.
FO2 has a 'pipe rifle' which is the most basic-bitch breechloader you can imagine, with a solid wood stock. It has no bells and whistles such as semi auto fire or magazines which are much more hard to construct.

If you're going semi-auto, it's basically going to look somewhat functional as a firearm by design. When people make guns crudely, they just look like shittier proper guns rather than absolute piles of trash.
