He has some very good reasons but he is probably asleep right now.

But I remember one was the environment changes to your actions.

And NV was a buggy unfinished mess.like most obsidian games

Or you know just use those two limbs with feet attached to them and walk.
In FO1-2 it seems most long-distance movements (aside from the player) are in large groups of people with brahmin powered caravans. Only way to carry a large amount of supplies around.

I mean...FO3 was a buggy unfinished mess too, it didn't even have a proper fucking ending. And I cannot recount the number of times I was hardlocked from progressing on the PS3 port.

So, maybe the Chicoms were the good guys?
Or just afraid of an Eldritch Horror gap.

Because after reading about Ug-Qualtoth thanks to @Scooby Doo here, it sounds like several sets of cultists were trying to wake that thing up just prior to the bombs falling.

To that we have Mr. House's comments regarding the war "starting 48 hours early".

So, it sounds more and more like the only thing stopping that thing from bring awoken via some ritual or it's underground city being entered was the Chinese nuclear attack.

Nah it's the Moth Man that they were trying to stop from eating their children

Looking at that map (very cool map btw) ... NCRpocalypse aside, really illustrates that while the Legion could've taken the Mojave Wasteland, actually threatening the NCR proper would've been really, really hard. The Mojave Station and I-15 Junction were just the beginning of the mountain pass, which goes on for several more miles and we could see from the Nuking of the I-15 Interstate that the NCR had assembled a fair number of NCR Heavy troopers and multiple vertibirds in the area and probably other heavy forces. The Legion would've had to fight uphill to take Mojave Station, then proceed down the I-15 Mountain Pass... then find themselves in another open desert and then go through another mountain pass... then more delicious desert and then they'll arrive at The Hub.

Which... obviously is probably one of the most important cities of the NCR and if captured, could likely cripple the NCR. But even in Fallout 1 it stretched far and wide so its only grown bigger since then. Capturing New Vegas which was a new city, but populated mostly by barely urbanized tribals and overcoming a few recently civilized tribes in the form of the casinos (and the Omertas actually aiding the Legion) and Securitrons is one thing, taking a potentially larger city with a far more loyal NCR, or at the very least, anti-Legion city, would've been really, really hard for the Legion I envision.

Huge city with a hostile well armed population and their supply line stretching back miles and miles across desert and one mountain pass all the way to New Vegas or even beyond the Colorado River and potentially being attacked on multiple sides the whole time. Very bad time for the Legion.

So in honor of the TV show coming out I've been working on a home brew DnD session via Discord set place in the East Coast of Fallout.

I'm using some elements from the board game but omitting others cause they said stuff like rolling a 1 is a critical success which imo is too confusing.

What'll be interesting though would be the radiation mechanics, so they'll reduce your max HP until you cure the radiation and not even long resting will cure it so this'll make radiation more dangerous until or unless you choose a radiation immune being or stock up on radiation resistant/countering gear (I will also allow radiation resisting perks from the game for those with high endurance)

For example Gamma Gun will do 1d10 radiation damage, if you're lvl 1 at 10HP and take 5 rad damage then you're capped at 5HP until you cure your radiation or level up (If your normal level up will give you 20HP well now you have 15 HP)

I think there are some existing rules that were already created for that. But regardless that sounds like it would be a fun game.

Yeah that's actually how radiation pretty much works in the Fallout RPG game iirc.

But it's going to be a Homebrew so a mix of actual Fallout video game mechanics with Baldur's Gate ish mechanics.

I meant like someone already created mechanics for doing a Fallout game with DnD mechanics 3.5 edition I believe. Or it might of been modified from Pathfinder, I can't recall anymore.

I'm gonna homebrew it even more though

>:p

Ammo will be the equivalent of Spell Slots so melee builds be winning.

Should only have superweapons use spell slots IMO small guns and such could still use ammo so you still have something akin to an archer or ranger
Well I probably should rephrase.

Ammo will definitely be like a consumable for ranged attacks.

I'd probably make spell slots from unique super weapons or mutations 😂 maybe like an designator beacon for an orbital satellite will be a spell slot that recharges after a long rest.

Shouldn't you be using GURPS for it instead? Given the context of Fallout?
