Lehi has the most beautiful anthem in all the world even though they acted wickedly in some respects. It makes me cry to listen to. I would actually characterise the early Israeli state as being more or less perfectly in line with my ideological beliefs. Early Israel was a beautiful act of the restoration of a people and I have nothing but respect for modern Israel.

Sounds like a question for staff comms. And I don't see anything about your post being editted, unless it's something from that quote box that was editted, and if it is, staff didn't do that. TS updates quoted posts with the new text from the orginal, it's why even when some members have changed thier name, the new name shows up in the quote box.

Because it fully changes the meaning of the post? So either staff are changing what people are saying, or she was a sock of the staff.

At least here in Portland, the far-right has been the side that's been escalating the threat of violence massively; not only have they now declared that their entire intent at this point is to initiate violence (or barring that, force the City of Portland to use up police resources until it's forced to bow to their wishes), during the last major round of protests (not the one a couple of weekends ago, but the set before that) they literally set up a sniper nest with long guns.

Do you have some citations on that? The only thing like that I've seen was that the cops talked to some of them who were on a roof with rifles, which is a bit different then what you're saying.

Also, given that they've had guns at a number of these protests (as has thier opposite number), and no one's gotten shot yet, I don't really see what the point of fear mongering about "sniper nests" are. This is real life, not COD, you don't get unlimited bullets or faster health regain or something when you're in a "sniper nest".

Do you have some citations on that? The only thing like that I've seen was that the cops talked to some of them who were on a roof with rifles, which is a bit different then what you're saying.

They were set up on a garage roof overlooking the protests, with rifles and stated that their intent was to open fire on the left-wing counterprotesters if they deemed the situation "out of control". The police excluded them from the property for trespassing, but did not arrest them for having weapons due to the rifles being unloaded and cased, thus at least technically not a violation of Portland gun control laws.

But you really can't see that as anything but a threat and a huge escalation.

The criminal justice system isn't a single entity that can agree or disagree. I honestly don't trust the neutrality of the trial or anybody involved in it. We both know that if any other verdict was handed down that there would be hell to pay for anybody involved.
