Actually reading into the article, him stating that stating the Holocaust was factual or not as beyond his scope as a Principal could be plausible but alas it seems more like a double standard then anything.

Plus furthermore he stated it the Holocausts Historicity was a personal belief. When pressured by superiors to apologize he blamed the Parent herself and strawmanned and distorted the original exchange during said apology.

"That's my personal ideology," he explained. "Even though I believe the Holocaust existed, she didn't have the right to ask me that information, and I had the right not to answer."

It brings up an interesting point again. He obviously had the right not to answer but that's likely only thanks to the privileges afforded to him due to his station and race.
