It's pretty lame to thread ban someone for just answering a question. Honestly the strict control on that thread is pretty lame to begin with. I'm curious why one can't discuss memes in the meme thread.

I think they fear that a meme thread will turn into a discussion thread. But yeah, it is kinda stupid - you generally need some knowledge to understand a meme, and if somebody doesn't have the necessary knowledge...

What's wrong with the meme thread also being a discussion thread, as long as the discussion is about memes and/or their context? Or even agreement or disagreement, for that matter?

The problem was that it was turning into discussion. There were political discussions in it, as well as other off topic stuff. I believe there was a page without memes. Other meme threads don't face this problem (probably cause they aren't political), but this one did. So only that thread had the image tax.

Well, it's never been a problem for any other thread to split off-topic stuff into its own thread, so why is the meme thread such a problem? Plus, it seems pretty natural for people to ask questions about the memes, and to answer such questions, since not everyone is going to know what's being referenced.

Socialism is bad, except when it benefits corporations.

If anyone has a comment, Aldarion started a thread for that https://www.the-sietch.com/index.ph...d-the-ministry-of-ideological-memes-q-a.5580/
As someone who has worked at Walmart, and even a place that paid less, staples.
One can survive and live a decent life while working there

From what I've seen Walmart pays significantly more than minimum wage now. The place I used to work also paid more than minimum wage also, and they've actually bumped it up recently to stay competitive with other home improvement type places.

Honestly a big part of this issue is that people seem to just be ignoring the fact that minimum wage was never about being a "living wage." It's meant to be literally the basement as far as skill level, and the type of person who worked them was supposed to be a high school student or recent HS graduate who was still living at home anyway. I am so goddamn tired of seeing people whine about thinking they're owed a "living wage" instead of going out and looking for jobs that to pay more, or for that matter looking to live someplace that doesn't have such a high cost of living.

Exactly!
And I know walmarts in TX for example pay 13 an hour.
Mine paid 11 and hour and you got a raise the longer you were there.

They are perfectly livable jobs if you didn't want to live lavishly, and just wanted a simple life

Walmart pays its employees a decent-ish amount for the work they do, but I don't think it's possible for them to go up to 15 an hour across the board. As in "they actually do not have enough extra money to raise wages by that amount" not possible.

I'd also note that 3ven if you're somehow stuck at $20,000 a year minimum wage, the US median wage is $35,000. A two person, two income household can easily rise about that even if they're somehow both stuck at 7.25 an hour.

You also can get Healthcare through Walmart and Dental.

We explicitly designed the welfare state to give money for working! This is what it was designed to do! Like, the earned income credit alone is structured to only pay out if you working! We've structured Medicaid so a family has to be fairly affluent to not be able to get their children on Medicaid if they apply for it. Specifically so there wasnt a perverse incentive for parents to quit work to get poor enough for government medical care for their kids.

And I mean, if your supporting the "nordric" model, this what you support but more so! What do they think universal healthcare goes to? What do they think universal schooling services go to?

The China part is definitely not true.
We hate china and are activelyswitching from COIN operations to LSCA (I cant remember the abbreviation we use) to focus on China and Russia.

I honestly done give a shit about the rest, but the Chnina part is the only thing I will call this out on
