It is true that the U.S. elections and their various dramas and frauds have caused a lot of strife and incited great tension. Simply blocking all discussion for hours or days at a time may seem an expedient solution. But the consequence is that a defining aspect of the forum is removed, this traffic and interest directed elsewhere, and any expectation that the forum can be relied upon as "a meeting place in a time of danger" is disproved.

I'm chalking it up to the fact that we just had a transition of power; those are always chaotic. Now, if this is still going on a month from now; that's a different story.
Because of the amount of trolls and those that came here specifically to make sure the views we share are pushed away and pushed off.

I hope that is the case.
Silencing all discussion of the topics they set out to troll is the very best win they could ever hope to achieve. No greater propaganda victory could be granted than a suppression of enemy discussion in enemy territory by enemy authorities. They certainly aren't suppressing their own discussions in their places!
