Great, now do non-Haredim....
As their numbers increase, so does their political power, and that will have consequences, not necessarily good ones some notice.
The article states that their TFR is 7.1 and they are 20% of Jews, so math says that if they went down to 2.1, the Jew's average would be down to something around 2.1 too. Which still would be good, but the growth seems to be pretty much all Haredim.

Non-Haredi Israeli Jewish women have a TFR of slightly under 2.5:

See page 23 here.

Something doesn't add up there. If she has a US citizen husband, why does she need to go to Mexico to get a green card?

She's an illegal immigrant to the US. She came over here at the age of four along with her parents.

Looks like a different data set, where the Haredi don't even break 6.

Well then it is a layered failure of the immigration system. Should have been deported with the rest of the family a loooooong time ago.

Maybe the data was different a decade ago? Or maybe Haredi is defined a bit more broadly in that data set?

You know that I myself have more sympathy for illegal immigrants in the US than you yourself do! ;) (Though I'd probably feel differently if they were working-class Muslims or Africans, or possibly Roma.)

You might like this then, yes, the source is quite surprising to find something like this in.

And yes, Bismarck is the original inventor of modern style social security systems.

That makes sense, actually. In the old days, one probably expected one's children to take care of oneself in old age, but this became no longer necessary with the creation of the present-day social safety net. Interestingly enough, some US states still have filial responsibility laws on their books, though some other US states have already abolished theirs by now.

Racism is repulsive :(:

That it is. :(

A seven bedroom house with a swimming pool located in a nice predominantly white Tennessee neigbourhood was burned to the ground. It almost certianly was because - pardon the language - "an uppity nigger" lived there and owned it. It was almost certainly arson and a hate crime the local authorities are turning a blind eye to.

EDIT: Seven bedrooms and a swimming pool is not a house. It's a mansion most people can't afford to even consider buying or renting for a weekend.

Yeah, it's quite tragic. I think that it's envy at him for living in such a nice house and also anger at him for having a white wife.

Some parts of Romania had above-replacement fertility in 2019:

I just hope that it's not due to the Roma.

It's a weird pattern. Because some of parts of Romania that were former Austro-Hungarian Transylvania are better but others are worse than eastern Romania or southern Romania.
