Oh shit... things are getting even more serious.

Investigators found a FULL SCALE MODEL OF THE US CAPITOL inside one of the homes of the INSURRECTION LEADERS.

A Replica of Said Model Pictured Here:

The article also says the FBI found a notebook containing notes and reminders on bringing a weapon and ammunition plus stuff on how to create a hometown militia.

Yeah the headline makes it sound stupid but on closer inspection it suggests there's somewhat more to it than just a Lego set...

There were no "reminders" in the sources cited in the article of bringing a weapon or ammunition to the Capitol. Your literally making shit up.

As for the other terrifying evidence...

Oh God... look at those detailed instructions. BATTLE DRILLS: TRENCH, BUNKER!!!!!!!!11

Not quite as elaborate as your standard Anarchists Cookbook or Antifa stupidity found circulating about the internets.

The main crime here is the FBI would have a stronger case if the militia he formed was more well regulated. 😢

As a general rule, people who scrawl "Shoot more x" in their crazy diaries are not to be trusted. May shock you, but even if it's communists it's kind of illegal to kill people.

Lol, you can find similar quotes from any two groups intent on killing each other throughout history, from the Romans talking about barbarians to the Nazis talking about Jews. Some people saying others aren't really people doesn't really justify anything.

No, it doesn't. Communists are people, and all the more monstrous for it.

They have killed more people than the adherents of any other ideology, and done it in less time too.

So? Does that make the guy writing that less crazy somehow? Do the actions of Lenin and Stalin justify a desire to shoot up some edgy college kids in Che Guevara t-shirts? I stand by my original point, people scrawling "Shoot more x" in their crazy diaries is always cause for concern. That would be true even if we replace 'x' with something as unambiguously awful as cannibalistic paedophiles.

Partly because I don't trust the target selection and discrimination of anyone with that mindset, but also because vigilante murder is still a crime, and for good reason, even if they really, really deserve it.

A few things first off Romans were right 99% of the time about barbarians. Second there is a difference between Nazis and everyone else. Nazis dehumanizing Jews was solely because of race from the adults to the infant in the crib they were killed not for their actions or beliefs but for being born to a specific group. This is different from other groups where the dehumanization only happens after the other group actually did something. Communists are atheists and mass murderers who export their vile ideology and force others to become godless atheists by threat of death. They offer nothing, in life they fuck up nations economically and in death they do even worse they damn souls. The only group that are worse are satanists. So if commies are persecuted it’s for a good cause.

As a thought exercise, how many people getting defensive here would feel the same if it were reversed? If the guy was ANTIFA, and he'd built a "harmless" lego model of a police station, and the diary where he reminded himself to bring his body armour, ammo and "assault rifle"* had a circled exhortation to "shoot more nazis"?

*Which as we all know is just a left wing panic buzzword lol.

So I misread the article, sorry. The point is, as @Megadeath pointed out, these types of comments are not something your typical well-adjusted human writes in a “to-do” list. By itself, it raises eyebrows, but when coupled with participating in the riot plus other items one normally does not take to the Capitol (unless one wants a very thorough question and answer session with the USCP, not to mention standing out like a very sore thumb), it raises a lot of questions.

Besides, how many people do you actually know who do “battle drills” and build trenches and bunkers on weekends for fun, who aren’t in the National Guard or the reserves?

The Lego thing is a parenthetical statement that’s being taken out of context in the whole indictment.

By the way, here’s the charging document, with stills included. Nothing about the Legos, so I’m curious to see what else they found, but while social media had fun with it, things are a bit more serious.

Those same edgy college kids were probably out there beating up people, tossing Molotovs, and breaking windows in one of the many riots started by adherents to communism.

Hast du gedacht über das, Wandschrank-Bolschewist?

Meh. Lego models and stupid or spicy writings in a notebook--or organizing a militia--aren't criminal. Such are, in fact, quite protected. This is arresting officers making things sound scary in court check-in, and the relevancy to the actual case is distant-to-irrelevant.

Notably, even the prosecution isn't going to the 'He organized a militia to storm the capitol!' or 'He had weapons with him at the Capitol' place that the notebook would begin to be something that might be indication of intent and planning.

Uh huh... All of them? And does that somehow justify vigilante murder in your eyes?

Also, why the German you weirdo? And if you're going to make accusations, feel free to show some evidence supporting them.

I'm just responding to the implicit suggestion that there's no reason for concern about this, because the guy built a model from lego and that's obviously completely innocuous. I'm happy to leave the legal arguments to the professionals, and let the course of justice lead where it may. People pretending this guy is just fine and there's no reason for concern are deluding themselves to support prior bias.

Mao had his Red Guards and now Biden has his Black Guards.

I'm sure they'll spare your place if you put up your little Biden sign though.

No appreciation for the original language in which "Das Kapital" was written?

Shocking, how these modern Marxists have devolved into naught but mindless, savage beasts.

Yet I should not be surprised, given how these so called "protests" have been turning out.

They'll have to do a hell of a job to reach me across the ocean. Nor, despite your continued ignorant assumptions am I a supporter of Biden or Communism. Like I said, feel free to try and prove otherwise, rather than just making childish accusations and insults. Why would I give a crap what language das kapital was written in? You're a Canadian on an English speaking site, talking to an Australian. Dropping into random German to make some "righteous" stand against perceived communism just looks like more edge lord fascism from someone who's shown plenty of it.

As to the actual "content" of your posts... What's your point? 'Coz it sure reads a lot like "Some college activists broke the law, so it's totally justified to murder whoever I think can be lumped into the opposition".

Holy Strawmen! When did I ever say anything about trusting the guy. I wasn't planning on inviting this guy over to bang your Mom or anything. And it's not a diary, it's a stupid notepad. Probably just a daily devotional.

And neither I nor anyone else excused or "implicitly suggested" approval for the actual crimes the dude was charged for so you can shove that Strawman as well. I'm talking about Legomania here. Obfuscate and deflect all you want with your fallacies.

Twas nice bait with the comment about Killing Communists. Your prospects for glowposting are stupendous.

But yeah... he wrote 'To Kill Communists.' I've seen worse comments under your purview on Spacebattles.

Besides, how many people do you actually know who do “battle drills” and build trenches and bunkers on weekends for fun, who aren’t in the National Guard or the reserves?

It's not illegal to do battle drills or build trenches and bunkers (barring local ordinances I suppose) on weekends for fun. Fuck off Fascist. :p

Anyways...

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. (y)

People are always dunking on gun owners for being lazy and untrained and not ready for when your side gets the wish for Biden to unleash the nuclear armed F-15's and now we got a bunch of 'well adjusted Leftists' here implying not just him, but anyone is apparently guilty of some sort of anticitizen behavior because their alleged hobbies are too scary for them. HE WRITES SCARY THINGS! LEGOMANIA! PLAYING SOLDIER! HETERONORMATIVE BEHAVIOR. This is like a sad attempt at 'othering' behaviors you find problematic. Don't like it, fuck off. Endorsing the death of murderous anti-American Communist ideology in America should be normalized. Just like anything though, endorse (and enjoy) responsibly.

Doesn't even have to be that... Some people are Survivalists. Some people are re-enactors or playing soldier. Some people are Doomsday Preppers. And yes, some people decided to do the Black Panther thing and form Self Defense groups or unorganized militias or whatever. Most of it is perfectly legal or in other cases should be legal.

What we got here are people implying guilt for his hobbies. Not his associations or the actual acts for which he was charged. And those hobbies aren't just implicating the guilt of whatever guy was cited in the original article... but for everyone who dares engage in those hobbies... or has those opinions... or sympathy with said opinions. Those people, as they've said... are not normal. They are not well adjusted. And they're guilty... of something probably. I mean just look at how they behave and dress. 🤷‍♀️
