Mask off and shameless, gotta love it folks

You'd be right, except for the fact that our entire cultural frame in the west is the one you are espousing, and no one seems to remember the atrocities committed by anticommunist forces, still embraced and vaporized today.
Even communists tend to forget them, and not realise the significance of our opponents embracing a mass murderer who pioneered torture techniques against union organizers and their families
Sure, the history of communism is full of horror and failure, and requires study to avoid committing the same horrors anew.
At least I don't embrace Stalin as a hero of the people and say he was right for killing Kulaks and Reactionaries. Fuck off with your moralizing, I'm not the one saying you deserve to die for the actions of your ideological kinsmen
Under the colour of law as sanctioned by the Chilean congress. It may have been an excess, but you must shoot people to end the threat of the bolshevik atheist tyranny. I will condemn individual actions and people but I will always defend the Pinochet regime as an act of Necessity.
Except that doesn't matter if the problem is in the foundation of the ideology. If you have a machine that can't work because of fundamental principles, there's no way to fix it.
Alas, due to the self evident statement "socialism inherently doesn't work" which obviously all socialists and communists agree with, we all deserve to die.
Mask off my mans
This thread has become a 2f violation at minimum. The Pinochet regime and related matters are a thread derail and should cease.
my opinion on Jordan Peterson?
Hes a moderate left wing professor who proclaims platatudes that would be considered basic common sense during the 1940s and 1950s. He's only controversial because the world decided to go insane.
Wait, he’s Left Wing? WTF
Cherico's comment is that he's left-wing by 40s-50s standards, but modern identity politics makes him right-wing. Or so I think.
he's left wing by 60's 70s standards and 80's, 90s standards and 00s standards too.
The left used to be seen as the party of liberals; their embracing of extreme authoritarianism is a recent phenomenon, one that has drastically altered the political landscape. He was thinking of joining the right wing party in canada lol.
We have 4 at the federal level, all further left than the conservatives.
Stop making stuff up
If you want to ask a rules question, make a thread in Staff Communications or Questions, Comments, & Concerns.Quick rules confirmation, is the support for pinochet and belief that his actions in killing communists/repeating those actions moving forward kosher within the rules?
(He also refuses to acknowledge that white privilege exists in any form and that sociopolitical history in Western culture was at any point misogynistic. These notions, simply put, seem to run contrary to history as I understand it.)
Jordan Peterson is an interesting figure, for how polarizing he is. I'm old enough to remember what the left and right looked like in the 90's and early 00's, and he would very much have been considered left-wing back then. A bit of an oddball for a leftist, but definitely leftist.
He's extremely insightful about a lot of key issues. One of the best things I think he said was something along the lines of:
"You say you're oppressed? Well of *course* you are, *everybody* is oppressed, all in different ways!"
People tend to have this all-or-nothing perspective on 'life isn't fair and is hard' for some people, and other people just have it all good, all the time. Neither is true all the time, for anyone, outside of perhaps a couple thousand people who literally have the worst lives in the world. If you aren't in prison, if you've got a reasonably functional body and mind, then you can get out there and do something to improve your own life.
That's pretty central to the kind of message he tends to communicate, and it runs in hard counter to the intersectionalist narrative, which is why he's so villified, I think.
That society was never misogynistic? Can you source him claiming such? As in a direct quote, not something some website or another claims.
