Tracy Chapman is one of my favorite country stars. What does Washington Posts Emily Yahr have to say about her.
Wait... She thinks the song Fast Car never dominated the music scene because she was queer and black? I didn't even know she was gay until I read this gayass tweet.
It was her debut album in 1988 and it was (and still is) a legendary song. Her debut album was nominated for three Grammies! She's had so successful a career she has a Greatest Hits album.
Just give me one reason why WaPo would have this take?
Even Tracy Chapman praised Luke Combs version. She don't need lameass journos White Knighting her.
Yeah this song is alright I guess. Maybe if we got a White guy to sing it people would actually listen (said no one ever).
I haven't even listened to the Luke Combs version. Just no real interest for me. I'm sure it's fine though. Luke Combs is a big fan of Tracy Chapman after all.
Still haven't heard the Luke Combs version because I don't really care, but this collaboration they had at some Awards Show warmed my heart.
I love Tracy Chapman's music so seeing her so happy performing a great debut despite the nontroversy with the guy was awesome. It sounded great and she sounded great and she looked great on stage as well.
Pretty much shows the media outrage was manufactured cringe at this point.
