"Lets go Brandon" is a normie meme, The optimistic side of me likes to think that if we reached gulag point then people would fight. The cynical side of me knows people would just lay down and take it.

I told my dad that slavery did end up being a Thorn in America's side just not the way people think
1. It kept us from expanding in valuable territories that would cause trouble down the line (looking at you cuba)
2. it created a unstable sub culture wound that we are still trying to mend and when it seems like when said wound heals bad actors open it back up again.
3. it was used as a foothold to spread a genocidal socialist philosophy in America that we are still trying to fight to this day.
4. It's sprouted a bunch of redundant and petty philosophical discussions that keep us distracted while bad actors destabilize the country.
From redudant racial sciences and philosphies to the spread of communism alot of the severity of the problems we have today I think can be traced back to slavery. What makes it worse, the people who helped perpetuate these problems are the ones that say we are the problem.
