Funny thing about that statement of Che Guevara's ... during the Age of Sail the RN basically ran on beer and rum. Parliament was "drunk driving a superpower".

A British post Captain with orders to sail to the West Indies "with all possible haste" wasn't leaving Portsmouth until his ship had at least 60 butts of beer in the hold.

That's about what the crew of a sixth-rate armed with 9 pounders would need just to avoid dehydration while crossing the Atlantic. The Captain would also be looking to make a port call as soon as the ship got to the West Indies because a) his ship is almost out of beer and b) his knowledge of what's going on in the West Indies is at least 2 months out of date.

Knowing you it will be something about a particular trap though, so might want to look into the NSFW thread.

Hard disagree. Trump and DeSantis are both needed.
It's one or the other in 2024.

But DeSantis is younger, smarter, better spoken and more disciplined, while also being a completely and utterly savage attack dog.

The big difference is that DeSantis knows when to shut the fuck up and let his enemies make a mistake, and Trump never shuts the fuck up. Puts his foot in his mouth all the time, and countless times has spoiled easy political victories, where all he needed to do was be quiet for a fucking minute. It's exhausting.

DeSantis has all the good qualities of Trump, with less of the negatives. He is just better than Trump in every way.

Further, it looks like most Trump endorsed candidates are losing. He's hurting the party.

In addition to that, he was a big spender, and supported taking guns first, and exercising due process later.

I also have a proven with him pushing these toxic vaccines.

Nah, it's time to move on. If the GOP selects Trump in 2024, it's basically political suicide.

I don't disagree that DeSantis would make a good presidential candidate but Trump has become too big to skip the canditacy.

Gotta say the midterms are dissapointing. Way too little red it seems. People seem to be in denial of how bad things are and still voting for uniparty shit.

Yeah, and you have the usual abortion nonsense and the usual problems with voting machines helping the Demorats.
Did the Republicans get a majority?

It’d be political suicide for DeSantis to get in the ring with Trump, and would hurt the prospects of the party.

Whether you like it or not is immaterial. Trump is still the kingmaker within the party and will likely remain so for the foreseeable future. DeSantis is smart enough to realize this, and will likely bide his time as governor.

Only once Trump is removed from the board, either by winning his second term or losing his next election, will DeSantis move in.
