Could you please explain wokeness to me? I've heard the term 'woke' and 'wokeness' a few times, but it's never been clear to me which behaviors and thought patterns it's supposed to describe.
And I generally find (though not every time) that a concept's enemies give a more precise and less fuzzy definition of a concept than it's allies, no offense intended to those who are allies of 'wokeness', and I would also appreciate the efforts of any allies who may be here to explain as well.
It's just... I literally do not understand what it's supposed to mean, and have been unable to pick it up from context.

It's what social climbers have been using to try and focus the Democratic party.
You see, the Democrats are MASSIVE in size compared to the Republican party. If the Democrats had the same turnout as the Republicans, they would win every election in a fucking landslide. There are about 43% more Democrats than there are Republicans. That's just a fact.
The problem the Democrats have is that their party has a lot of infighting. Voting blocs are about what those voters care most about. You get some overlap of course (ie, Hispanic, Catholic, ect), but overall, you need to appeal to those voting blocs. The Republican party has for a long time now, been much smaller than the Democratic Party, but they don't have much infighting. They all have key issues that don't outright contradict the other.
The Democrats do. The Unions don't like the Socialists or the Green blocs. The LGBT and Blacks have different concepts on Civil Rights. So if the Democrats were to try and pass gay marriage on the federal level tomorrow, the black caucus would pull out. The Union voters would split. And that generally shoots down any chance of it passing the House and it sure as hell won't pass the Senate, which is typically about a decade behind in terms of social/economic views as the House due to the long terms Senators serve and the staggered election cycles.
Being "woke" is about deciding on certain voting blocs as being more important. So let's say that race is the most important issue. Blacks and Hispanics are victims in this narrative. Well, that means that the Union, LGBT, Socialist, Green, Single Mothers, Unmarried Women, and Under 30s voters need to set aside their own wants and interests for the sake of the Black and Hispanic voting blocs.
Now let's say tomorrow they decide that women have been abused by all races since the beginning of time. Well now, that means that Union, LGBT, Socialist, Green, and Under 30s need to vote for the good of the Black and Hispanic bloc--but all of THOSE blocs must vote for Single Mothers and Unmarried Women.
Well, you go a step further. You decide that LGBT have been oppressed by all of THOSE people too. So that means that Union, Socialist, Green, and Under 30s need to vote for the good of the Black and Hispanic bloc, who in turn need to owe their fealty to the Single Mothers and Unmarried Women crowd, who in turn must owe their fealty to the LGBT crowd.
It's a pyramid scheme.
That's why you have certain social climbers who try and collect "oppression points", because doing so moves them UP the hierarchy. That's also why you have backbiting within these groups to decide who is the most oppressed. And most importantly, who should speak up for those oppressed people. You'll notice that a lot of these people who speak on behalf of blacks, hispanics, gays, trannies, and women tend to be white women (feminists) or the beta cuck white boys.
It's also why a lot of feminists are lashing out at men who see themselves as women and why you have a strong push towards encouraging young people to become transsexuals.
The problem with this strategy is that it's just doubling down on a failing strategy. The whole reason the Democrats had to adopt it was because no-one within their alliance would agree on enough to be effective. So they started using social shaming and blacklisting to try and intimidate people into accepting their views.
That's more of a function than a goal.
The actual goal is to get the voting blocs to align with a common interest so as to make the sheer size and diversity of the Democratic party functional. Because without that, they have to rely upon a charismatic candidate like Bill Clinton or Barak Obama. Or someone they hate, like a Donald Trump. Or they would literally have to start cheating every election to win.
