republicans storm secrect inquries

Problem with this.

Several members who participated in storming are already members of the committee.

As an independent, I have to point out that this was bullshit. They would have already had the info if they were there, inside, doing their jobs. And then shared the info with their colleagues.

Sorry, but the real problem here is that they violated security measures by bringing cellphones into a secure location where they are explicitly not allowed to.

I don't even care about the whataboutism's, I will call bullshit on Democrats when (when, not if) they violate security again.

You need to be following the story more closely.

Yes, everyone knows these people are on those committees.

The chairman of that committee, Schiff, has been keeping many of those members OUT of the proceedings. Banning Republican members who would normally be a part of such hearings, banning lawyers for witnesses that would normally be provided them, and, in generally doing things so out of line with how these kinds of hearings are normally handled that it's transparently partisan. And this is not even getting into the fact that these so-called "Impeachment Hearings" in no, way, shape, or form look like ANY PRIOR impeachment hearings held by the US House... no full floor vote, no allowance of the minority to subpoena witnesses of their own or cross examine witnesses, no public transparency on the hearings.

Also: that kind of security violation is so minor that it's laughable it's being trotted out as something terrible the Republicans did. Speaking as a person who not only holds a US security clearance but has worked in a cleared environment where we were required to check cell phones, accidentally bringing in your cell phone to the secure area when nothing that is actually classified is present (and there is no evidence that anything classified WAS being discussed in the area at the time) is something that is closer to an embarrassing faux pas than some major scandal, especially given the heat of the moment style this circumstance involved. It was usually met, if even noted, with a quick "go check you phone" and only would have been written up if it was a habitual matter, or if it resulted in actual risk of classified information, not general operations.

I felt it best to post the cross referenced list.

  1. Congressmen Jim Jordan is on the Oversight committee.
  2. Lee Zeldin is on the Foreign Affairs and the Financial Services committees.
  3. Mark Meadows is on the Oversight committee.
  4. Paul Gosar is also on the Oversight committee.
  5. Steve Watkins is on the Foreign Affairs committee.
  6. Fred Keller is also on the Oversight committee.
  7. Ken Buck is also on the Foreign Affairs committee.
  8. Ralph Norman is also on the Oversight committee.
  9. Carol Miller is also on the Oversight committee.
  10. Alex Mooney is on the Financial Services committee.
  11. Drew Ferguson is on the Ways and Means committee.
  12. Jody Hice is also on the Oversight committee.
  13. Ron Wright is on the Foreign Affairs committee.
  14. Scott Perry is on the Foreign Affairs committee.

The only committee that they did not have a member of is Intelligence, whose members I would assume would know better than to bring or allow cellphones in.

So.

Why the fuck are these committee members not doing their job?

You need to be following the story more closely.

Yes, everyone knows these people are on those committees.

The very first thing said in the video Cherio posted was a lack of Republicans on the committees...

Link? Because Matt Gaetz was kicked out of the Intelligence committee, of which he was not a member.

Half that shit would run afoul of house rules, surely there are better and more legal means of combating such injustices than breaking security measures that need to be enforced for when the Republicans eventually take back the house.

You can't establish president that it's ok to break them.

And we shall look forward to when hearings are eventually done to look into these hearing once the house is taken back. As I said, president can not be established or tolerated for the sake of long term.

In the military you can have a lot of unfortunate consequences for bringing a cell phone where you aren't supposed to.

Things are a bit more heavy handed in my end of things.

Glad they did this, and had Graham enter his resolution against this farce of an 'impeachment' on the same day.

The Dems have shown that they have no desire to operate under normal rules of Congressional behavior and are engaging in never before seen partisanship in their witchhunt. If the Reps have to storm every 'secret' hearing to expose and destroy this farce Schiff is perpetrating, then so be it.

A reminder that this is the same adam schiff who got tricked by two russian pranksters into agreeing to collude with a fake Ukranian politician for Trumps alleged nudes.

Here's a pair of articles where both Gaetz and Jordan stated they were excluded from closed door hearings.

Gaetz is a part of the Judiciary committee, not any of the committees that were tasked. Of course he would be blocked.

Jim Jordan should be on there as an Oversight committee member, but none of the links you provided said he was barred, just using a quick control+f to find when he was mentioned.

A quick google search doesn't show anything saying he was barred, but my google-fu is notoriously bad.

Yeah I think the issue is that Jerry Nadler is involved in the impeachment inquiry and working with Schiff on it and the latter is handling the hearings behind closed doors even though its the Judiciary committee that should deal with all of this impeachment stuff. But yeah Gaetz is on the Judiciary and not the Intelligence Committee. Jordan just said that select Republicans were being barred and Democrats were selectively leaking information to the media in one of those standard displays of hypocrisy since they're whining about security and unauthorized cell phones.

Looking back on my post it appears I pulled a Hilary Clinton and just spat out a one liner implying they were both barred. My bad. :p

Well, that I can see.

But, is there any proof? I don't trust politicians on their word much anymore.

What makes you think they’re actually thinking in advance and accounting for things?
because the alternative sort of terrifies me; people who aren’t thinking and are desperate are liable to do very unwise things. Which isn’t good when you’re talking about a major political party.

(As in, someone panics or drinks too much of the Kool Aid and suddenly nukes are flying)

I swear, I’m starting to wonder if the Democrats want to cease to exist as a party or are hoping for some sort of Second American Civil War.
They legitimately think that the DC bubble and Twitter echo chamber reflect public opinion. They are uninformed outside of those areas. Frankly, they range from ignorant to stupid.

Hanlon’s Razor: Never attribute to malice that which can be explained equally well by stupidity.

Good ol technically illegal theater from the guys who once clubbed a fellow congressmen from trying to resist their elitist bullshit. We've arrested nuns, glad to see that the Trump cult of personality has got our politicians acting like warring Kenyan lawmakers.

Look, we get it; you're a troll. Your shtick is overplayed at this point; the only people who still take you seriously are those who haven't been paying attention. I think it's time for you to either move on, or finally start acting like a reasonable human being for a change.
