Russia will just wait till there's an earthquake and say those tremors were an illegal nuke test by the US so they can proceed with their own testing.

I expect Russia will look at the US even testing the delivery systems as an escalation at some point.

Also, you can 'hide' a nuclear test by making it seem like someone else's test.

Iran, for example, likely has the bomb already, but hid the tests by doing them in North Korea, where it just looked like another of Kim's tests. Russia might even have done the same to check their own nukes viability at one point or another.

yeah wars suck of course people are tired of it, because it sucks.

But europes stuck supporting Ukraine because everyone knows that for geopolitical reasons that it will not end with Ukraine and nato nations will be attacked next. Thats why Im not nessarly against giving Ukraine weapons to bleed Russia I just want concessions that actually benifit us americans in exchange for doing that rather then just giving the left shit for free again....

Well I disagree with that, Europe is supporting the war because they want to bleed Russia and because they want Ukraine to be aligned with them due their abundance of natural resources. America instigated this war and is supporting Ukraine largely because it wants to isolate Russia from the European market and bleed the Russians at the same time, as well as keep Ukrainian natural resources out of Russian hands.

Russia is in this war to preserve their own prestige and make NATO step more carefully in the future, they probably also want to secure Ukraine's natural gas reserves and farmland in some fashion. Their preferred end goal is probably Ukraine as a client state or more likely Ukraine as a balkanized state, since either outcome would suffice to create a nice buffer from the rest of Europe.

Both we and the Russians are ruthlessly following our own self interest, whereas the only party that isn't acting in their own interest is Ukraine. This is not a war of survival, expansionist policy ended in the 20th century, this is a war of interests like all wars the past 78 years have been.

Outright expanding your territory is too much effort for too little gain, they'd never commit to such an action unless the local populace was already open to it, like in Crimea or the Donbass.

If CNN says this, it's probably some kind of a lie.

With even CNN reporting the stark reality of the war, how can the Biden administration and Congress continue to justify sending billions in military aid to Ukraine?

Even if true, then they would do it to... perhaps make it stop being a stalemate?

No, this is a situation where the Russian presidential election in March is the real deadline for at least the Russian side.

Also, this is CNN once again being lying POS's who will manipulate a lot of stuff to push things in the wrong context, or without context.

I read the Times article and the Economist article written by Zaluzhny, and it admits Ukraine's counter-offensive underestimated the depth of the minefields and the Russian willingness to just throw bodies at a situation.

And remember, if Ukraine is forced to cede land, this won't stop the conflict, because Russia will just rearm and try again in 3-4 years for Putin's next election, and may decide to take an actual swipe at NATo in the Baltics this time.

If Ukraine is not given the tools and support to win, then things will only get worse and more people will die, and not just in Ukraine.

The CCP are looking at how things go in Ukraine to weight when/if to hit Taiwan, and if the West shows it will leave Ukraine out to dry at this point, it will make the CCP more likely to push on Taiwan.

Ukraine cannot be allowed to lose, if we want this conflict to not spread further, and the US and allies have the means to ensure Ukraine can win, if we would just stop slow rolling aid.

And if Ukraine is not allowed to win by the west, then Russia can never know peace or friendship with the west ever again, and must be treated as an eternal Mordor to be contained and orks to be killed.

Then again it was in a repair shipyard so maybe it was turned off.

Which speaks towards the lack of effective land based air defense in the Kerch Peninsula of all places. Though I did hear they intercepted at least one of the missiles, but I didn't really look into it.

It was active. The footage on Telegram from locals show the ships and the city's Air Defense artillery firing at the two missiles. It looked like they shot everything from guns to missiles at them. Including WW2 style flak barrage. The two missiles just moved straight through and big fireball at the shipyard.
