Russian Military News

In a move surprising to no one with a clue, within days since the election circus, Russian officials announce creation of a massive amount of new military units, which can only mean an incoming mobilization wave. For those with no idea of military terms, those units mean at least low hundreds of thousands of people.

Ah, so a "paper battalion" like seen in armies of old (especially the Napoleonic Wars-era).

You mean that:
a) Politicians being politicians they tend to keep bad news for after the elections, like, in every single country on the planet since there have been elections?
b) Zomg, when a lot fo your neighbours have decided to aid and abet internal and external enemies you might decide to increase your military capabilities?

Captain obvious....

Yeah, it's all about the neighbors, please ignore the massive ongoing war, nothing is going on except neighbors being hostile for no reason at all.

You mean a war where it's neighbors bankroll and support it's enemy?

Yup, that certainly isn't a reason for them to remilitarize...

1.In kgbstan there is no elections,so no need to hide anything from population, becouse they would obey anyway.
2.Moscov started war, failed to win in week, and now are fighting like idiots. If they were smart, they would made deal with demorats, like Sralin.
Becouse Sralin could take part of Europe ONLY becouse demrats let him.But Putin belive in myth, that soviets win on their own,and try to do so.

Good for us,smart czekist would own Poland by now.

Eh, I doubt it. My guess is that they go with a different Russian Classic: the conscript division. Sure, one guy gets the rifle, the other the ammo, but Russia does have a ton of bodies to spend.
That's a pretty widely debunked myth, the Soviets back then and Russians now have plenty of arms and ammo, it's logistics, training, coordination, and the Kremlin only caring about ultimate victory which means they'll happily send 2/3rds of these new units as human ablative armor to exhaust the Ukrainians while the remaining third are the actual breakthrough troops like Bakhmut and Avdiivka.

The flooding in Russia's Orenburg area might be impacting military industry in a more direct manner along with all of the other more profound impacts.

Russian Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov was arrested for corruption and bribery charges.

Financial Times said:
Russian deputy defence minister Timur Ivanov attended a meeting of the military's top brass this week, sitting a seat away from his boss and wearing the uniform of one of the highest-ranking officials in the country. Hours later, Ivanov was taken to a courtroom, still wearing the same uniform but now under arrest on suspicion of corruption and facing many years in jail. The downfall of a man whose opulent lifestyle was known and tolerated by the Kremlin for years deals a significant blow to his longtime mentor, defence minister Sergei Shoigu, at a time when much of the country's political elite is expecting an imminent reshuffle.

And another one thrown under the bus to placate the masses.
How much time before Putin grabs another one?
Now, how much time before the rest get scared & brave enough to move on Putin?

Arrested for corruption? they would need to arrest everybody in goverment, then.
Dude did something else, but they could not say it openly,so get arrested for corruption.

And,why they built palaces? it is matter of time, till everybody there would lost his office, and his palace would become somebody else property then.
If he was smart,he would keep money in Swiss bank.

Or,becouse he really tried sometching against Szoigu,or even Putin.
And masses would never move, remember then in 1917 they need not only lost war,but also agents send by both germans and Wall Street, and their moneys.
Without that, there would be no soviets, only anarchy and fall of state, becouse Kiereński was unable to hold it.

What someone commented in another forum is there are rumours that, when Prigozhin went apeshit, Putin was forced to have a closer look at what Shiogu and his clique were doing, to Shoigu's detriment.
