Russian-Ukrainian-Polish Eternal Friendship Thread

As for the troop deployments, they’re there as an assurance to other NATO members that, yes, we have their backs. Don’t expect them to slug it out, though; these guys are light and motorized infantry. They’re a tripwire in the extremely unlikely event Russia has decided to fool everybody and launch an invasion of NATO instead of Ukraine.

Not that I think they would, but OTOH “X would never be that stupid!” has in fact turned out to be very wrong in the past.

I believe it's 6000 troops of the 82nd Airborne they've deployed to Poland (and possibly Romania).

Very much a tripwire force, or rather an extra pair of eyes on the wire and to help ease the jitters of the Poles and Romanians who have been getting some bad vibes as of late. 6000 troops though, and light infantry as noted...that's not going to stop 130,000 Russian mechanized troops in case anyone's wondering.

EH, they will be a speed bump until the units that can actually do something get there should they be needed

I never said we would go to war, just that Russia will invade

Take this as friendly advice. Heaven knows I have no business casting stones. But.

You have said that you would be eager to go to war, and claimed your superiors were also eager to go to war on behalf of Ukraine. Leaving aside the wisdom of getting involved, to the average individual this sounds like you are claiming that that is the real policy.

I realize you probably don’t intend to do that, but at the same time, there is a very good reason that whenever something is put in writing, there’s supposed to be a blurb about “The opinions expressed herein are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent the views of the Department (of Defense, of State, etc) or the United States Government.” Especially when you talk about your colleagues and claim they say the same. To someone who’s familiar with how these things work, it may induce a facepalm. To someone who’s not, however, it can cause real concern.

All I’m saying is, just be very careful about how you comport yourself on such topics in public going forward. That’s all.

Ok I didn’t think of that since they are an ally so we have options. But will the sanctions be effective? If Germany needs Russian gas more than trade with us they won’t choose us.

Germany will survive, it’ll just result in a backlash against the government for being a bunch of idiots and realizing just how stupid Schroeder and Merkel actually were.

Keep in mind the U.S. has been boosting natural gas supplies to Germany to help cover the gap, and the French are taking the lead in negotiating with Algeria to boost gas exports to Europe. It wouldn’t fill the gap completely but it’ll take the worst of the sting out of price increases. After that it’s up to the Germans to decide whether to suck it up or

I heard 3,500 from the 82nd and 1,000 from the 2nd Cav (normally stationed in Germany) with 8,500 on standby.

Smoke seen rising this morning from the Russian embassy in Kiev. Might be somebody’s samovar had an electrical short, or possibly someone’s busy shredding and burning documents. Make of that what you will.

The samovar probably ate some bad sushi.

Oh, and there’s no reason to be worried about the shelling of a Ukrainian village by separatist forces (who are claiming the Ukrainians shelled their own village as a false flag).

Also the White House stating Blinken set to talk to the UN Security Council today, but no further plans to speak with Putin at this time.

In the sense that he is both a populist-nationalist, a bigger slavophile than me, and also believes in post-humanism.
I used to follow him, but even I thought that he was a bit out there.

Guy is a bit like my brother from another mother, as Murikanski say, only even more heavily afflicted by the tism.

Actual infowars-level prediction here, do these people really not self-reflect on their lies at all? "bro, the russians will gas their own people and use the bodies to frame ukraine because bad man Putler wants to inflict maximum suffering!"

U.S. officials have obtained intelligence that Russia’s announced military pullback from Ukraine’s border was a deliberate ruse to mislead the United States and other world powers, four officials said Thursday, as President Biden offered a bleak warning that the Kremlin will launch an attack “in the next several days.”
"We're not owned, we're not owned," say the mainstream conflict analysts "actually it's a larp of a larp and the war is still on. y'know like russian nesting dolls or something."
Or maybe claims of a russian false-flag are being made to cover for a Ukrainian false flag so they can false flag the false flaggers in a larger false flag, so they can say russia false flagged their own false flag operation which was actually a nato false flag!
