So this is how culture dies....with Thunderous Applause? (A rant)

I frankly don't believe in rebirth (not in the physical sense anyway) either something dies or it doesn't and something only dies when people let it die and people are letting specifically the IPs and stories die for no reason Other than as a take that to SJWs, and I refuse to let Spider-man or batman or any of them die at the hands of the left.

So do you write fanfiction then? Because unless you're doing that, what exactly are you going to do that keeps the franchise from dying?

yeah I write fanfics. Hardest part just keeping the motivation to write. Actually trying to make a spider-man fanfic to post here actually.

Just so you guys know, I don't think the SJW or Far Left Phase full of dirt cheap authors & writers with low quality & low-detail art is gonna last for long

Simply put, they'll have to lose interest or get bored with politicking at some point

I'm a professional writer. I can relate.

Work on both the pace and the quality of your writing. Things that touch the heart are what live.

Say, what are your opinions on Pulp?

Because I honestly agree with Correia, people gotta stop being so obsessed with trying to sound "important" or to impress a bunch of "intellectuals"

Sometimes, a story's just a story, a guy fighting a giant monster is just an awesome manly moment and that's the sort of attitude that needs to be revived.

I've been an avid reader all my life; due to my mother's extreme literacy influence, I literally cannot remember a time before I could read.

That said, the point about 'forced to read boring books' is very solid. It's great that Moby Dick struggles with profound human themes. I still didn't bother to read it, and watched the Patrick Stewart movie instead.

We no longer live in an age where we're short on literature that's both engaging, and touches on profound themes. There's no excuse for assigning incredibly dull material to people who are stuck in school because they have to be, not because they want to be.

I'll allow an exception for one boring book. A valuable lesson can also be taught that there are things of worth in boring material as well.

I have three ambitions for every significant project of mine: Entertain, Educate, Inspire. I want it to do all three of those things, but I recognize that Entertain must precede the others, because if it isn't entertaining, (most) people won't keep reading.

I disagree that 'a story is just a story' though. The good guy fights the evil monster, because evil needs to be fought. That's an important principle and theme. It's also a simple one, and sometimes, themes that simple aren't just 'all you need,' but the best themes you can have.

do you have a discord and/or do you do DMs?

Yes and yes. There's a server for Brucequest , my primary project, and an invite link threadmarked on there.

Honestly, I think even Larry Correia ends up having themes in his stories, positive ones, but desires to entertain first and foremost

Grimnoir's got "Never sacrifice freedom for the sake of security" as one theme, or don't sacrifice it even for a bunch of "benefits".....safe to say those who did ended up regretting it horribly near the end.

While, Saga of The Forgotten Warrior's got stuff about how what's morally right and what's the law aren't the same. It's something the protagonists struggles with due to his programming and the life he lead for the majority of his life.
